They require a VISA and passport entry in Uganda, the visa is issued at the point of entry.

Mountain Gorilla rules and regulations:

  • Stand 7 meters away from the Mountain Gorillas, as they continue with their day to day activities in the forest.
  • People are advised not to trek Mountain Gorillas with communicable diseases such as diarrhea or flu.
  • One is not allowed to take pictures of the Mountain Gorillas with the flash on.
  • You’re not allowed to drink or eat in front of the Mountain Gorillas; you can smoke and eat at a distance of 200m.
  • In any way you want to cough or sneeze you’re advised to turn aside from the Mountain Gorillas or cover your mouth or nose.
  • Human feaces must be buried in a hole of at least 30cm deep.
  • Do not litter in the forest.
  • You’re not supposed to spit in the forest or within the forest.
  • A person under the age of 15 years of age is not allowed to trek the Mountain Gorillas in their natural habitats.
  • You’re not allowed to make noise in the rain forest.
  • You’re only allowed to spend one hour with the Mountain Gorillas in the forest
