Amboseli National Park
Amboseli National Park is home of the Africa Elephant and lies in the foot hills of the magnificent Mount Kilimanjaro – Africa’s highest peak. It is one of the Kenya’s most popular parks and got its name ‘Amboseli’ from a Maasai word meaning salty dust. More so, the park is one of the best places in Africa to view world’s largest population of elephants up close.

Amboseli is known as a bird viewing paradise all year round including the residents and migratory bird species which fill the park from November to April, which is most wet months in the year but rewarding time to see bucket of unique birds such as Pangani longclaw, Rufous chatterer, African swamphen, Greater flamingo, Hartlaub bustard, Lesser flamingo, Long-toed lapwing, Eurasian thick-knee, Dickinson’s kestrel among others.
Game drive in Amboseli National Park
Game drives in Amboseli is the majorly done activity in the park and best done during the dry season starting from July to October which is the best time for game drives; Animals to see during safari include lions, hippos, elephants, buffalos, kudus, leopards, cheetahs, hyenas, wildebeests, zebras, giraffes, and gazelles many more.
How to get there
By Road; The main road into the park is from Nairobi via Namanga ‘’240kilometers’’ on the Nairobi – use Arusha Road, through Meshanani Gate.
You can use road from Nairobi via Email ‘’228kilometers’’ on the Nairobi – Mombasa Road. Access from Mombasa mainly through Tsavo West National Park via Kimana ‘’Olkelunyiet Gate’’.
By Air; The park offers a single airstrip for light aircrafts at Empisel gate. Other airstrips appear at Kilimanjaro Buffalo lodge and Namanga town.
Amboseli Park Entry Fees;
The park entry fees are entitled KSH860 for adult -East African Citizens, Children pay Ksh215 and residents pay Khs 860 an adult and children pay Ksh 215.
The nonresident pays USD60 per person an adult and children pay USD35 per person.

Lake Nakuru National Park
Lake Nakuru National Park is a beautiful wildlife haven, located along the great rift valley and surrounded by wooded and bushy grassland. Getting there;
By road; Lake Nakuru has got a tarmac road that connect with Nairobi, a distance of 156 kilometers northwest of Nairobi on the main A104 road. The easiest route to access into the park is via the main gate ,4 kilometer from Nakuru Town Centre.
It is also possible to enter the park from the main Nairobi Nakuru Road at Lanet Gate.
The Nderit Gate is used by tourists accessing the park from Masai Mara or Elementaita.
Airstrips; You can access the park from Wilson Airport to Naishi airstrip services for tourism and park activities.
Lake Nakuru – park agates; It offers lanet and Nderit gates both located on the larger part of the park on the Eastern side. Then the old main gate lies on the Northern Western side of the park and still accessible though at certain times water rises and cannot allow you to make a ful circuit to connect to the Eastern side. Only visitors with tickets are permitted to access both sides of the park without paying extra changes.
Tsavo West National Park
The park ranks with stunning land of lava, springs, man- eaters and magical sunset. Well, Tsavo West is beautiful rugged wilderness and has savannah ecosystem composed of open grasslands, scrublands and Acacia woodlands, belts of riverine vegetation and rocky ridges such as the poacher’s lookout where visitors can see the teeming herds of animals in the plains below. It also offers the most fabulous game viewing in the world and attractions like rhino, elephant, hippos, lions, cheetah, leopards, buffaloes, diverse plant and species of birds including the threatened corncrake and near threatened Basra Reed Warbler among others.

And the over nine month waged intermittent warfare against the railway and all those connected with it in the vicinity of Tsavo.
A beautiful volcanic arena; molten lava that form Shetani lava spewed from the earth in the last 200 years ago and its fiery fury was done by locals to be work of the Devil.
Poacher’s lookout and roaring rocks; Tsavo West abound the spectacular vintage point from which to view the movement of the herds.

Mount Kenya National Park
Mount Kenya refers as the second tallest mountain in Africa with the highest peak that rises 5,199 meters and scenery inhabited around is breath taking. All visitors are required to check in and out of the park; it is done by recording personal information in the entry and exit books.

By road; From Nairobi to the park takes 175 kilometers – it can be accessed on Nanyuki-Isiolo road via Sirimon Track or Nyeri -Nanyuki road close Naro Moru. Mount Kenya park can also be accessed via Chogoria on the Embu-Meru Road, covering 150kilomters north of Nairobi.
