The 12 Days Uganda Wildlife and primate safari takes you to different splendid safari destination such as Kidepo Valley National Park in north eastern region, Kibale Forest National Park in western region of Uganda home capital of chimpanzees in the world, Queen Elizabeth National Park located in south western region, home to biodiversity of wildlife over 95 mammals and over 600 bird species among others. Then you will end up visiting Bwindi Impenetrable National Park a home to world’s population of endangered mountain gorillas and other primate species. This makes it a perfect safari tour in the Pearl of Africa ‘’Uganda’’. This safari starts from Kampala and ends in Kampala /Entebbe Airport.

Detailed Itinerary

12 Days Uganda wildlife and primate safaris

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Gulu

Depending on your location on the first day of the 12 days Uganda safari, you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about the safari and then start the journey to Kidepo valley national park. On the way you will have a stopover at Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for rhino tracking and after continue the journey with en-route lunch. After lunch you will proceed to Gulu for dinner and overnight stay at Churchill hotel

Day 2: Transfer to Kidepo valley national park- afternoon game drive

On the second day of the 12 days Uganda safari, you will have breakfast and your driver guide will pick you up from the hotel to proceed the journey to Kidepo valley national park. Upon arrival in the park you will check into the lodge for lunch where after you will go for an evening game drive where you will be able to view animals like elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, klipspringer, reedbucks, bushbucks, bat eared fox, jackals, lions, leopards, Uganda kobs among others. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Kidepo savannah lodge-midrange/ Apoka Safari Lodge – Luxury

Day 3: Morning game drive and Karamojong cultural tour

After an early breakfast on the third day of the 12 days Uganda safari, you will meet up with your driver guide to go for a morning game drive in Narus valley where you will be able to see animals like buffaloes, elephants, Uganda kobs among others which will be drinking water in the valley, view different bird species like the ostrich, Karamoja apalis among others. After the game drive you will return to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch you will go for an interesting cultural tour where you will be able to interact with the Karamojong who live in the neighboring villages. During the cultural tour you will be able to learn about their culture, tradition, way of living, visit the Karamojong manyattas, enjoy their traditional songs, dances among others. After the cultural tour you will drive   back to the lodge for dinner and overnight as above.

Day 4: Transfer to Murchison falls national park

You will wake up and have breakfast on the fourth day of your 12 days Uganda safari, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Murchison falls national park. On

the way you will have En-route lunch and enjoy great views of the countryside, landscape, beautiful scenery among others. Upon arrival in the park you will check in at the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Pakuba safari lodge-midrange / Paraa safari Lodge – Luxury

Day 5: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise

After an early breakfast on the fifth day of the 12 days Uganda safari your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for a morning game drive where you will be able to spot various animals like Uganda kobs, warthogs, giraffes, elephants, bushbucks, lions, leopards, hyenas, Jacksons hartebeest, view different bird species among others. After the game drive you will return to the lodge for lunch.

After lunch you will drive to Paraa landing site for an interesting boat cruise to the bottom of theq falls where you will be rewarded with incredible views of animals like elephants, buffaloes and

antelopes which gather to drink water, hippos and crocodiles in water, view variety of bird species like kingfishers, fish eagles, bee-eaters, hornbills among others. After the boat cruise you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay as above.

Day 6: Transfer to Kibale National Park

Early morning after breakfast, depart the lodge Proceed for your long journey to Kibale ForestNational Park. This Park is home to almost 13 primate species. These include red colobus and L’Hoest’s monkey, black and white colobus monkey and many more.  You will have lunch in Fort Portal and proceed with the journey to the Kibale forest. Dinner and overnight stay at Chimpanzee forest lodge-midrange/Chimpundu Lodge -Luxury

Day 7: Chimpanzee habituation Experience

After breakfast, you will set out for chimp habituation experience within the Kibale Forest. During your search, expect to see a lot of primate species like chimpanzees, monkeys, and other animals like the forest elephants, bush pig and duiker, warthogs, reptiles, and amphibians as well as a colorful variety of butterflies. Once you allocate them, you will be allowed four hours to spend with them as you learn about their unique behaviors as well as enjoying photo shoot. After you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 8: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park

After enjoying your cup of coffee in the morning, depart the park and embark on your journey to Queen Elizabeth national park. Depending on your time, have a stopover to take some pictures of the tea plantations, crater lakes among others before entering the park. Enjoy your lunch and unwind at your lodge or embark on an evening game drive. Dinner and overnight at Elephant Plains (Luxury) /Elephant hub Lodge (midrange)

Day 9: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise – Queen Elizabeth National Park

You will go for early morning game drive in the Kasenyi sector where you may spot various animals like the elephants, Uganda kobs, leopards among others. Return to the lodge for late breakfast, in the afternoon you will go for a launch cruise where you will spot various water animals like Hippos and crocodiles, the cruise will also enrich you with various water birds.

Dinner and overnight as above

Day 10: Transfer to Bwindi

After having your morning breakfast, you will set off for Bwindi impenetrable national park with en-route lunch and a stopover in Ishasha sector where you will be able to view the tree climbing

lions. Upon arrival in Bwindi national park, you will check into the lodge for Dinner and overnight at Four Gorilla Lodge –Luxury /Ichumbi Gorilla Lodge

Day 11: Gorilla habituation – Bwindi

After an early morning breakfast, you will drive to the park headquarters for briefing and go for gorilla trekking. Gorilla habituation experience is a full day activity where you will be allowed four hours to spend with gorillas as you learn from their behaviors, feed, play, build their nest as well as capturing videos for your future remembrance. Then after, drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay in the above lodge.

Day 12: Departure to Kampala

After an early breakfast on the last of the safari, you will drive out of the park and start the journey back to Kampala with en-route lunch and a stopover at the Equator in Kayabwe where you will take photos, buy craft items and then continue the journey to Kampala arriving in early evening. Upon arrival your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe international airport for your departure flight or drop off at any place of your advice.
