This 8 Days Uganda Classic Primates Safaris is an unforgettable safari tour package leading you to both the world’s famous mountain gorilla safari destination that is; Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park and Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Travelers will engage in a double gorilla trekking experience in both two national parks as well as a golden monkey tracking adventure.
The trip starts and ends at Kampala/ Entebbe Airport.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
After morning breakfast at the hotel or upon arrival at Entebbe Airport, our driver guide will pick you up at the hotel to set off to Bwindi impenetrable national park which takes about 8 to 9 hours’ drive inclusive with a stopover at the equator. The driver guide will brief you about the safari. Continue a drive to Mbarara with a stopover for lunch en route. As you drive to the park along the way you will enjoy great views of rolling hills, terraced farmlands, beautiful landscapes many others. Upon arrival in the park, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Haven Lodge – Mid-range and Buhoma Lodge – Luxury
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest
Gorilla Trekking: Wake up early in the morning have breakfast, carry your packed lunch and drink water. You will be transferred to the gorilla trekking park headquarters for a pre-gorilla tracking briefing at 8 am. After briefing, meet up with the park ranger guide to lead you into tracking trails of these gentle giants. The experience can take 30 minutes to 7 hours depending on their location. Once you find them, you will be given 1 hour to spend them observing the gorillas as they interact with each other as well as enjoying photo shooting. You will then, hike back at the starting point to be rewarded with your gorilla certificate, meet your driver guide to drive you back to the lodge for dinner, and Overnight stay above.
Day 3: Leisure at the Hotel/Lodge
Leisure at The Hotel: On this day, you will stay at leisure at your excellent lodge. Enjoy the unwinding and fresh breathtaking adventure. Around lunch time, you will enjoy lunch at leisure in a beautiful dining area as you get rewarded with a spectacular view of the nature around. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge above.
Day 4: Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Transfer to Mgahinga: After enjoying your relaxed breakfast at the lodge, followed by check out and then embark on Mgahinga National Park. Arrive on time at the park, check into the lodge relax, and later have lunch.
After lunch, have warm relaxation around the lodge or option go visit the Batwa pygmies. Dinner and overnight. Lake Chahafi Resort – Mid-range Mount Gahinga Safari Lodge – Luxury
Day 5: Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga National Park
Gorilla Trekking: On this day, you will wake up get ready for your another gorilla trekking experience. Have breakfast, carry your packed lunch from the lodge, and meet up with your driver guide to drive you to the park headquarters for a briefing about gorilla trekking rules.
Once you find the mountain gorillas you will be allowed to spend an hour with them in their natural habitat which offers a gainful opportunity to observe their habits, and behaviors, watch gorillas feed, breastfeed, groom young ones, take photos and record the breathtaking moments to show people back home after the safari. After the one-hour encounter with the gentle giants hike back to the park headquarters where you will be rewarded a certificate for participating in the gorilla trekking adventure. After driving back to the lodge. Dinner and Overnight stay at the lodge above.
Day 7: Golden Monkey Tracking & Leisure at the Lodge
Golden Monkey Tracking: Have an early breakfast, your driver guide will pick you up and drive you to the park headquarters for a short briefing about Golden Monkey tracking rules. After briefing, the park ranger will accompany you in search of golden monkeys in their habitat. The experience can take about 3 to 4 hours and on finding them, trackers will give one hour to watch them as they jump from one bamboo tree to another as they play and eat. Then, trek back to the lodge for lunch and relax at the lodge. Or you can move around your lodge as you enjoy an amazing view of nature and birds of the air. Dinner and Overnight stay at the lodge above.
Day 8: Transfer back to Entebbe /Hotel
Transfer to Entebbe: On your last day, wake up have a relaxed breakfast, head back to Entebbe with an impressive stop over at the equator for future photography, visit craft shops, and enjoy your en-route lunch. Then after, continue a drive straight to Entebbe at your booked hotel or be dropped at Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight back home.
