Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive at Entebbe Airport –Birding at UWEC
Arrival and Birding: On day 1 of the 7 Days Bird Watching Uganda Safari, upon your arrival at the Airport, you will be picked up by our driver guide and transfer you to ‘’UWEC’’ formerly known as the Zoo. The UWEC /Zoo is home to over 170 bird species and 10 species of birds are weavers including Golden Backed, Northern Masked Weaver, African paradise, Baglafect Northern Brown Throated, Black Necked, and Grosbeak among others. Other bird species include flycatchers such as Red-bellied, Crested shrike flycatcher, Lead Coloured, and Swamp flycatchers among others. You will also be able to spot raptors like the Gaber Goshawk, small banded snake Eagle, Shakira, African Goshawk, African Hobby, African Fish Eagle many more. Then drive to the Botanical Gardens for another birding encounter. Back for Dinner and Overnight stay in Kampala City.

Day 2: Transfer to Heritage Trail for Birding
Transfer to Heritage Trail: On day 2 of the 7 Days Bird Watching Uganda Safari, have morning breakfast and drive to Heritage Trail which is 10 minute’s drive where you will be able to see species like Brown Crowned Tchargra, Toed snake Eagle, Violet-backed starlings, Black Cuckoo-shrike, Yellow bill, Brown Twinspot, Black Cuckoo Shrike, Southern Banded snake Eagle, Great Sparrow hawk, Mssustached Warbler much more. Then you will drive to Lutembe where you will have your Lunch and after board a boat in search of various Grey Headed Gulls, the papyrus canary, white winged black tern, Papyrus Gonolek many more. Back to the hotel, Dinner, and Overnight stay.

Day 3: Transfer to Mabamba Swamps –Birding
Transfer to Mabamba swamps: On day 3 of the 7 Days Bird Watching Uganda Safari, wake up enjoy a relaxed morning breakfast served at the lodge and then transfer to one of the top birding Uganda sites that hosts a wide range of unique shoebills. Birding here can be done by canoeing and below is the list of birds to see; long-toed plover, African Water Rail, Herons, Yellow Billed Duck, White-faced whistling duck, Yellow-billed duck, Grey and Black-headed Heron Moorhen, Allen’s Gallinule, African Jacana, Sitatunga Antelope, Black crake, Goliath, Purple, Heron, Pygmy Goose among others. Back to Kampala along the way, you will stop at another swamp to spot other bird species such as Papyrus Gonolek, Yellow Crowned Bishop, Weyns weaver, White winged warbler many more . Dinner and Overnight stay.

Day 4: Transfer to Mabira Forest –Birding
Transfer to Mabira Forest: You will wake up have an early morning breakfast and head to Mabira Forest for birding which is an hour’s drive from Kampala. You will be able to spot a variety of bird species like Leaf love ,Toro Greenbul , Yellow whiskered Greenbul ,Grey spotted woodpecker ,white spotted Fluff tail, Forest Robin ,Yellow Rumped Tinker bird ,Yellow throated tinker bird ,Blue breasted Kingfishers ,Shining blue ,Woodland kingfishers ,Chin spot Batis ,Chestnut wattle Eye, Yellow mantled ,Black Billed ,Weyn’s weavers ,Violets backed starling ,Red headed Malimbe ,Purple headed starling ,Red tailed Ant Thrust many more. Have picnic Lunch and proceed for birding in the evening. Transfer back to Kampala for dinner and Overnight stay.

Day 5: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park
Transfer to Lake Mburo: After morning breakfast, drive to Lake Mburo National Park a 4-hour drive from Kampala with a stopover at the equator for memorable photography. You will proceed to drive to Lake Mburo National Park. Arrive in time and go for birding where you expect to sightsee species like Green Wood Hoopoe, Crested Francolin, Emerald spotted wood dove, Bare-faced Go- Away bird, Lilac-breasted Roller, Spot-Flanked Barbet Northern Black Tit, Trilling cisticola, Common Scimitar bill, Greater Blue Eared starling, African Grey Hornbill, Brown parrot many more. Drive back to the lodge for lunch and rest a bit.
After go for afternoon game viewing along the Zebra Track where you will be exposed to a huge number of species such as Black-bellied bustard, Coqui Francolin, Tamaracks Courser, African wattle plover, Chested swallow, Rufous napped rufous, Flappet Lark, you will also look out for evasive leopards and other nocturnal species many more. Day 6: Nature walk –Lake Mburo National Park
Nature walk: After a tasty breakfast, go for a guided nature walk around the wetland and savannah bird species, birds to see include Red headed lovebird, Black Collared barbet, localized red-faced barbet, Green capped Eremomela, and Lead colored Flycatcher among others. Back for lunch.
Evening game drive: Later on, drive to the evening game drive to adventure more species within the park. Dinner and Overnight stay

Day 7: Game viewing -Birding along the Lakeside Track /Return to Kampala
Birding: After morning breakfast, go for morning game viewing along the Lakeside Track where you expect to spot aquatic species like Papyrus Gonolek, White Winged Warbler, Lesser and Greater Swamp Warbler, and Blue-headed coucal, you will still search for the African Darter, African water rail, African fin foot, Spur-winged plovers many others. After you will set off to Kampala with en-route lunch and then continue to drive to Kampala or Entebbe Airport for your departure flight. End of Safari
