Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Depending on your point of location on the first day of the safari, you will be picked up by our driver guide who will brief you about the safari and then set off to Kibale Forest National Park in western Uganda. The journey is estimated about 5 to 6 hours’ drive and on the way you will have lunch and enjoy impressive views of the beautiful scenery, landscape, tea plantation, Rwenzori Mountains, views of the beautiful crater lakes many others.
On arriving in Kibale Forest National Park, you will go for an interesting swamp walk experience around the Bigodi swamp where you will be able to view different primates, notable bird species, plant and tree species many others. After the memorable nature walk, you will drive to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Kibale Forest lodge-budget/ Chimpanzee Forest lodge-midrange

Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi swamp walk
After an early breakfast, you will carry your packed lunch and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the Kanyachu Visitors Centre for a briefing about the chimpanzee trekking experience. After the briefing, you will enter the forest and start trekking to lookout of the chimpanzees which takes about 2 to 5 hours. During the trekking, you will be able to view different wildlife species, other primate species, different bird species, tree species many others. Once the chimpanzees are located you will be permitted an hour to spend with them in their natural habitat thus giving you a chance to watch them feed, breastfeed, hunt, rest, play, fight, learn about their habits, and behaviors, take photos many others.
After the one hour with the chimpanzees, you will trek back to the starting point where you will meet up with your driver guide to return you back to the lodge for lunch. There you will go for a nature walk in the Bigodi swamp area and look out for different primate species and bird species as the swamp has a variety of bird species and therefore a perfect site for birders. Return to the Lodge for dinner and overnight stay as above.

Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park-afternoon game drive
After a relaxed breakfast, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park. On the way you will have an interesting view of the crater lakes and tea plantations, and on arriving in Queen Elizabeth National Park you will check into the lodge and have lunch.
After lunch, you will relax at the lodge and later go for an afternoon game drive in the park where you will have amazing views of animals such as buffaloes, elephants, giant forest hogs, bushbucks, waterbucks, Uganda kobs, some bird species many more. After the game drive you will drive to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Elephant Hub lodge-midrange or Queen Elizabeth Safari lodge-budget.

Day 4: Morning game drive/ optional lion tracking experience and afternoon boat cruise
After an early breakfast, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for a morning game drive in Kasenyi Plains. During the game drive you will be able to explore different animal species like elephants, buffaloes, warthogs, Uganda kobs, and waterbucks which will be grazing in open savannah plains, view predators such as lions, leopards, hyenas which will be looking for a morning hunt, view bird species and so on. After the game drive you will drive back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will go for an impressive boat cruise on the Kazinga Channel a water channel that connects Lake Edward and Lake George. During the boat cruise expects to view large herds of hippos and Nile crocodiles in the water, view buffaloes, elephants, warthogs, and waterbucks drinking water along the shores, view water birds many others. After the boat ride you will drive back to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight stay as above.

Day 5: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
On this fifth day of the safari, you will enjoy breakfast, followed by check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to leave Kibale National Park and transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park. On the way you will have a stopover in the Ishasha sector where you will be able to view the unique tree-climbing lions while lying lazily up in acacia/ fig tree branches if you are lucky. After the game drive in the Ishasha sector, you will have lunch and then continue the journey to the park with beautiful views of the beautiful landscape, countryside, Kigezi hills, terraced farmlands many others. On arriving in Bwindi’s impenetrable national park, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Haven lodge-midrange or Buhoma Community Rest budget

Day 6: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi’s impenetrable national park
You will have an early breakfast on the sixth day of the 7 Days Uganda Primates and Wildlife Safari, carry a packed lunch, and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the meeting center for a gorilla trekking briefing. After the briefing, you will start trekking in the jungle an experience which takes about 30 minutes to 7 hours depending on where the gorillas are located because they like to move from one place to another looking for food. During trekking, you will be able to view other primate species, different bird species, and plants and once the mountain gorillas are given, you will be able to spend an hour with them in their natural environment which gives you a great opportunity to observe their behaviors, watch them carry out their daily activities such as feeding, playing, breastfeeding, grooming young ones, take photos and record videos.
After the one-hour encounter with these gentle giants, you will meet up with the driver guide and return to the lodge or go for an optional cultural tour where you will be able to interact with the local people ‘’Batwa pygmies’’. After the cultural tour, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight as above.

Day 7: Departure to Kampala
After breakfast on the last day of the 7 Days Uganda Primates and Wildlife Safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your guide to transfer to Kampala. On the way, you will have an en-route lunch and enjoy spectacular views of the rolling hills, beautiful scenery, and landscape among others. Arrive and your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight or drop you off at any place of your choice.
