Detailed Itinerary of the 3 Days Congo Lowland Gorilla Safari
Day 1: Arrival in Kigali and Transfer to Bukavu Congo
Upon arrival in Kigali, our skilled safari driver guide will pick you up from your hotel or Kigali International Airport and take you to the Congo Cyangugu border crossing. You will drive through the spectacular and beautiful views of rolling hills, the countryside of Rwanda, as well as perfect forests along the way, and primates, can be seen alongside while passing through Rwanda’s Nyungwe National Park.
Later on, you cross into Congo while using the Bunagana border and then, continue to drive to Bukavu town the nearest town to Kahuzi Biega National Park. Dinner and overnight.

Day 2: Eastern Lowland Gorilla Safari – Kahuzi Biega National Park
On the 2nd day of the 3 Days Congo Lowland Gorilla Safari, Wake up early have breakfast, go for registration at the park offices, and briefing about the gorilla rules and the history of the park.
Then after, you will meet up with the park ranger who will allocate to your assigned gorilla-habituated families in one of the four gorilla groups. The trekking experience can take about 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on their movements. But, once you allocate them, one hour is given to you to observe them as they play, feed, and survive the whole day in the forest, taking photos as well as capture videos.
During your trekking experience, expect to see other primates, mammals, and birds among others. After trekking, you will go meet your driver guide and drive back to the lodge for lunch and rest.
In the evening, go visit the community and view attractions around ‘’the Kibati waterfalls, Bukavu town, and visiting the Mbayo tea estate. Or opt to do a guided nature walk in Kahuzi Biega National Park. Dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Departure to Kigali or Kisoro
On the 3rd day of the 3 Days Congo Lowland Gorilla Safari, you will wake up have breakfast check out of the lodge, and then set off to Kigali in Rwanda through the Changungu border. The drive takes through a remarkable route with Key landmarks and attractions along the way.
If time permits you will have a stopover at the former palace of the King of Nyanza. Arrive in Kigali in the late afternoon to be dropped off at your hotel in Kigali or Kigali International Airport for your flight departure.
