Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up in Kigali and transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Depending on your location in Kigali on the first day of the 3 Days Mgahinga Golden Trekking & Hiking Safari, you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about the safari and then start the journey to the park. The journey lasts about 4 to 5 hours drive passing through the Katuna border in Kabale. Along the way you will enjoy an impressive view of beautiful rolling hills in Rwanda, terraced farmlands, and scenic scenery among others. Arrive at the lodge, check into the lodge for dinner and overnight stay. ‘’

Day 2: Hike Mount Sabinyo
Wake up have breakfast and then connect to the park headquarters by the skilled driver guide with packed lunch boxes, and enough mineral water bottles to keep you hydrated throughout the hike remember to wear comfortable hiking rubber shoes, a cap, sunglasses, and long-sleeved attire but light and others.
After briefing, you will begin the hike experience. The hike to the summit can take 8 hours depending on the climatic condition and other factors. The summits measure an elevation of about 3,645 meters above sea level. As soon as you access the top of the mountain, expect to have a spectacular view of a caldera and a beautiful view of the neighboring volcanoes within the park, spend some time. The hike can end late in the evening and then return back to the lodge. Have dinner and overnight stay at the lodge above.
Day 3: Golden Monkey and Departure to Kigali
After morning delicious breakfast, your driver guide will drive you to the park headquarters for a briefing about the golden monkey trekking rules. After the park ranger will accompany you into the forest in search of the golden monkeys in their inhabitants.
Golden monkey tracking experience can take about 5 hours and one hour is allowed to trackers to watch them as they swing from one bamboo tree branch to another as they play and eat. Then return back to the lodge for lunch. After lunch, drive out of the park and drive back to Kigali.
You will arrive in Kigali in the evening, your driver guide will drop you off at Kigali International Airport for your departure flight or be dropped at any place of advice.
