Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Lake Mburo national park,
Depending on your pick up point on the first day of the 4 days’ gorilla trekking and Lake Mburo wildlife safari, you will be meet up by our driver guide who will brief you about the safari and then start the journey to Lake Mburo national park. On the way you will have a stopover at the Equator where you will take photos, buy souvenirs and then continue with the journey to Lake Mburo national park.
Upon arrival in the park you will check into the lodge for lunch where after you will go for an amazing boat cruise where you will be able to view hippos and Nile crocodiles in water, view herds of buffaloes, waterbucks, warthogs drinking water along the shores, water birds like kingfisher, bee-eaters, fish eagles, cormorants many others. After the boat cruise you will drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Arcadia cottages-midrange or Eagles nest lodge-budget.

Day 2: Morning game drive and departure to Bwindi impenetrable national park
You will enjoy an early breakfast on the second day of the 4 days’ gorilla trekking and Lake Mburo wildlife safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to go for a morning game drive where you will be rewarded with views of animals such as waterbucks, elands, buffaloes, zebras, impalas, topi, giraffes and others which will be grazing in open savannah plains.
After the game drive you will drive out of the park and travel to Bwindi impenetrable national park with en-route lunch in Mbarara town. After lunch you will proceed the journey with impressive views of the countryside, beautiful scenery, Kigezi hills, terraced farmlands and many others. Upon arrival in Bwindi impenetrable national park you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma haven lodge-midrange or Buhoma community rest camp-budget.

Day 3: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park
After an early breakfast on the third day of the safari, you will carry packed lunch from the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to drive you to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing. After the briefing, you will be led by the park ranger into the forest trail head in search of your assigned gorilla family. The trekking experience can last about 30 minutes to 7 hours depending on the location of the mountain gorillas in the forest. During trekking you will enjoy views of other primates such as chimpanzees, l’hoest monkeys, black and white colobus monkeys, variety of bird species, view different plant and tree species many others. On finding the mountain gorillas are found, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat thus giving you an opportunity to observe their habits, lifestyle, behaviors, watch them feed, play, breastfeed, groom young ones, take photos and record videos to show people back home after the safari.
After an amazing one hour with the mountain gorillas you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and later meet up with your driver guide to drive back to the lodge or go for an optional cultural tour where you will be able to interact with the Batwa pygmies, visit their homesteads, learn about their culture, tradition, enjoy their traditional performances many others. After the cultural tour, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight as above.

Day 4: Departure to Kampala
After a relaxed breakfast on the last day of the 4 days’ gorilla trekking and Lake Mburo wildlife safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to depart back to Kampala. On the way you will have en-route lunch and enjoy rewarding views of the Kigezi hills, traditional homesteads, beautiful landscape and others arriving in Kampala early evening. On arriving, your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe international airport for your departure flight or drop off at any place of convenience.
