Day 1: Transfer to Congo and to Virunga national park.
Following your 5 days Congo gorilla and Nyiragongo hike tour, Get picked up by your safari guide from an agreed point in Kigali in the morning. Later embark on a drive to Congo through Rwanda’s hilly terrain a feeling that that will grant you satisfaction and an appreciating of Rwanda’s countryside , later cross into the Goma in Congo, be briefed from the Virunga office in Goma as well as picking gorilla permits. Later transfer to Virunga park. Check in at your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking.
Kick start your morning with a breakfast, later be dropped off to the briefing point where the park officials will brief you on the dos and don’ts in gorillas trekking. Finally be assigned rangers and gorilla family to track from. Delve into the jungles in search for the gorillas the jungle presents several opportunities to view other wildlife , primate and birds species, as you trek you may come across monkeys and birds. As you trek further you will meet the gorillas, you will forget all the hustle you went through to hike and just be awed by the gentle giants. You are given a maximum of 1 hour with the gorillas interacting with them and taking as many photos with them. Later after trekking, head back to the briefing point and be reunited with your Congo safari guide who will take you back to the lodge for a relaxation, dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Transfer to Nyiragongo and start the hike.
In the morning you will transfer to the hiking starting point in kibati village, you will meet the porters at the point and you will start the hike of Mount Nyiragongo, the hike requires a considerable level of fitness, you hike to top having dinner at the top and overnight on the shelters/ cabins.
Day 4: Descend Nyiragongo and transfer to Goma.
Have breakfast from the Nyiragongo top and later descend the mountain , descending is easier than ascending. When you reach the base by 12:00pm, you will be driven to Gisenyi , where you will spend your evening at leisure.

Day 5: Transfer to Kigali for your flight home.
Wake up to your last day of the safaris, have breakfast and head back to Kigali. Depending on your flight time . If there is ample time for you, you could do a city tour visiting the genocide memorial sites and craft shops, where you possible pick up souvenirs to take home. Later dropped at the airport for your connecting flight home.
