Day 1: Transfer to Goma
Pick up from Kigali and drive to Goma: this package starts on day 1 of 5 days the Great Ape Safari in Congo (Chimpanzee and Gorillas) with a pick up from Kigali city in Rwanda either at a hotel or direct from the airport and have a drive to Goma in Democratic Republic of Congo. Obtain your Congo visa, Gorilla trekking permits and chimpanzee trekking permits before proceeding to your lodge for dinner and overnight. Upon receiving Congo visa, the Rwandan Visa expires thus you will entitled to applying for a new Rwanda visa which will be ready for picking as you return form Congo.

Day 2: First Gorilla trekking in Virunga national park
1st Gorilla trekking safari in Virunga national park: On day 2 of 5 days the Great Ape Safari Congo (Chimpanzee and Gorillas), arise from your bed as early as possible, enjoy a heavy breakfast then set off on a transfer to Bukima police post where the trailhead for gorilla trekking is situated. Join other trekkers and rangers as they take you through a briefing session about gorilla trekking in Virunga national park in DRCongo. After briefing, hire a porter and be led into a forest to start the adventure of trekking the endangered mountain gorillas in their habitats in the forest. Gorilla trekking lasts about a few minutes to about 7 hours with just an hour of close vicinity with gorillas taking photographs and closely interacting with gorillas. Return to your lodge for dinner and night sleep.

Day 3: Second Gorilla trekking in Virunga national park
2nd gorilla trekking safari in Virunga national park: Wake up early once again for a heavy breakfast ready for a second Gorilla trekking safari in Virunga national park. Return to Bukima for another briefing just like the previous day. During briefing, you may request for a different gorilla family to have a combined experience at the end of the day since different gorilla families offer different unique experiences. Well, after briefing, you will penetrate into the forest and start the walk via different trails as you search for the gorilla family allocated to you. Spend an hour as usual with gorillas and later on exit the forest back to your lodge for dinner and night sleep as above.

Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking safari in Virunga national park
Chimpanzee trekking safari in virunga national park: On the 4th day of 5 days the Great Ape Safari Congo (Chimpanzee and Gorillas), have breakfast and meet your driver for transfer to the briefing grounds where you will be briefed about chimpanzee trekking in the wilderness of Virunga national park. After briefing, you will embark on a search of a troop pf chimpanzees that has been habituated and ready for trekking. Just like gorilla trekking, chimpanzee trekking also lasts for just 1 hour in presence of chimpanzees after following them up for several hours as they roam the forest searching for food. Remember to keep a social distance of about 7M between you and these primates and once an hour expires, exit the forest and be returned to your lodge for dinner and night rest.

Day 5: Return to Kigali for departures
Return to Kigali Rwanda for departures: Wake up for breakfast at your lodge on day 5 of 5 days the Great Ape Safari Congo (Chimpanzee and Gorillas) then check out and b driven back to Goma where you will obtain a Rwanda visa and later on crossover to meet with your Rwanda safari driver to proceed with your journey to Kigali city of Rwanda for a city tour and departures.
