Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up in Kigali, Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Pick up in Kigali. You shall be picked up in Kigali Rwanda by our safari guide, who will first brief you about your 5 Days Uganda Gorillas and Wildlife Safari before you embark on a transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park located in the south western part of Uganda, just roughly 4 hours from Kigali city. Be awestruck by the amazing scenery of the rolling hills of Rwanda, as well as the plantations and the locals go about their daily way of life. You shall arrive in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Cyanika border, and proceed to your lodge of stay. Check in and relax as you wait for lunch at the lodge. You can choose to have an optional community tour in the communities nearby in the afternoon, or simply relax at the lodge taking in the beauty and serenity of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 2: Gorilla Trekking
On this 2nd day of your 5 Days Gorilla and Wildlife Safari, you shall have breakfast at the lodge and then proceed to transfer to the starting point of your gorilla trekking adventure. You shall go with your packed lunch, which you shall enjoy during a lunch break during the gorilla trekking adventure. You shall meet other gorilla trekkers and be briefed about the gorilla trekking adventure, and then allocated a gorilla family to track. You shall then embark on the search of the mountain gorillas in their natural habitat, all the while looking out for other forest animals like warthogs, forest elephants, birds as well as plant species that your guide shall point out every other time.
Once you encounter the mountain gorillas, you shall stay in their company for an hour taking pictures and making videos. If you are lucky, an inquisitive juvenile may come up close and play on you. Be sure to not look at it in the eyes though, and always follow instructions from your ranger guide should this happen. After, you shall return to the starting point, get your gorilla trekking certificate and then proceed to transfer back to the lodge. Spend the rest of the day reminiscing of your gorilla trekking adventure and resting after a long gorilla trekking adventure. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 3: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Ishasha Game viewing
After enjoying your breakfast at the lodge, you shall check out and then proceed for a transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, best known for the vast savannah grasslands that inhabit the tree climbing lions and a variety of other wildlife species. You shall have enjoy the Ishasha game viewing opportunity en-route, spotting the famous tree climbing lions alongside other wildlife like topi, oribi, elephants, Uganda kobs, and so much more. You shall have lunch at a selected restaurant in the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park. Proceed thereafter to your lodge, enjoying yet another game viewing opportunity. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 4: Game drive, Boat safari
On this 4th day of your 5 Days Gorillas and Wildlife Safari, you shall wake for an early morning game drive in the park to see wildlife including but not limited to giant forest hogs, bushbucks, civets, warthogs, elephants and hyenas. Return to the lodge and have a sumptuous breakfast. Spend the rest of the morning relaxing. After lunch at the lodge, you shall go out for a boat safari on the Kazinga channel. Spot a number of water birds and animals like crocodiles, hippos, and so much more. Return to the lodge later enjoying yet another game drive. Dinner and overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 5: Chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge, Transfer back to Kigali
On this last day of your 5 Days Gorillas and Wildlife Safari, you shall wake up early for breakfast and then proceed for chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge where you shall encounter a number of chimpanzees alongside other primates like the black and white colobus monkeys, as well as various bird species. Return to the lodge, check out and proceed on a transfer back to Kigali, having lunch en-route. You shall be dropped off at your hotel/apartment or at the airport for an outbound flight.
