8 Days Uganda Rwanda Primates Tour
The 8 Days Uganda Rwanda Primates Tour is an extraordinary tour that starts from Entebbe Uganda and ends in Kigali Rwanda. The safari will take you to the most visited primate destinations in Uganda and Rwanda including Kibale forest national park, Bwindi impenetrable national park and Volcanoes national park where you will be able to spend time with the chimpanzees, mountain gorillas and golden monkeys in their habitat.

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to the hotel in Entebbe

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to the hotel in Entebbe
Depending on your arrival time at Entebbe international airport on the first day of the safari, you will be welcomed by our representative and then transfer to your hotel in Entebbe for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
On day 2 of the safari, your driver guide will pick you up from the hotel, brief you about the safari and then start the journey to Kibale forest national park. You will have en-route lunch on the way and enjoy views of the Rwenzori peaks, crater lakes, tea plantations among others. Upon arrival, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi swamp walk
After an early breakfast on day 3 of the safari, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to transfer to Kanyachu Visitors Center for chimpanzee trekking briefing where after you will start trekking in the forest with an experienced park guide in search of the habituated chimpanzees which takes about 2 to 5 hours. During trekking you will be able to view other primate species, birds, animals and once the chimpanzees are located, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their habitat which gives you a chance to learn about their behaviors, habits, watch them feed, breastfeed, play, rest, take photos and record videos.
After the one hour with the chimpanzees, you will return to the lodge for lunch where after you will go for an interesting nature walk in Bigodi swamp where you will be able to spot different bird species, primates, visit the local communities among others. Later drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight as above.
Day 4: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
On day 4 of the safari, you will have breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to start the journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park in southern Uganda. On the way, you will have enjoy stunning views and have a stopover for en-route lunch. Upon arrival in Bwindi national park, you will connect to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi national park
After an early breakfast on day 5 of the safari, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge with your packed lunch to transfer to the park headquarters for gorilla trekking briefing. After the briefing, you will be subdivided into groups of 8 people where each group will be allocated a habituated gorilla family to trek and experienced park guide and park rangers. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi national park takes about 2 to 7 hours depending on where the gorillas are located because they like to move from one place to another in search of food. During trekking, you will be able to view other primate species, plant and tree species, forest birds among others.
Once the mountain gorillas are located, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them which gives you an opportunity to watch them carry out their daily activities like feeding, grooming young ones, learn more about their behaviors, take photos and record the breathtaking moments to show people back home after the safari. After the encounter with the gentle giants, you will return to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight as above.
Day 6: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda
On day 6 of the safari, you will have a relaxed breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to start the journey to Volcanoes National Park. You will have en-route lunch on the way and enjoy beautiful views of the landscape, rolling hills, volcanic mountain peaks among others. Upon arrival, you will drive to the twin Lakes of Lake Burera and Lake Ruhondo where you will enjoy the views, wetland, landscape, bird species, Virunga volcanoes, local communities among others. Later transfer to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Golden monkey trekking and Ibyi’wacu cultural tour
You will have an early breakfast on day 7, meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for the briefing about the rules and regulations of golden monkey trekking. After the briefing, you will start trekking in the forest in search of the golden monkeys which takes about 2 to 5 hours. You will be able to view other wildlife animals during trekking and once the golden monkeys are found, you will be able to spend one hour with them in their environment which helps you to watch the golden monkeys feed, play, jump up in tree branches, take photos and record videos.

After golden monkey trekking, you will return to the lodge for lunch where after you will go for Ibyi’wacu cultural tour in the neighboring community where you will be able to interact with the local people, learn about their culture, lifestyle, way of living, enjoy their traditional performances among others. After the cultural tour, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight as above.
Day 8: Departure to Kigali
On the last day of the safari, you will have breakfast at leisure, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to start the journey to Kigali. Upon arrival, you will go for a short city tour where you will visit the Kigali genocide memorial center, Kimironko market, art centers among others. After the city tour, you will have lunch and then your driver guide will drop you off at Kigali international airport for your departure flight or drop off at any place of advise.
