Burunga Gorilla Lodge is a newly built luxury Accommodation found in Kisoro District, Rushaga Sector, at the Edge of the Magnificent Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the southern part of Uganda. The lodge is set near the headquarters of Bwindi National Park, just 6km away from the gorilla tracking and briefing point.

The lodge is business-friendly and in a perfect base for tourists, travellers, and holiday makers for safari adventures and relaxation to explore the park with its breathtaking views, soft breezes, rustling trees, and the forest canopy. One can be at the lodge by road transport from Kampala / Entebbe, which takes about a 9-10 hour drive and a 1-2 hour flight from Entebbe International Airport to the Kisoro airstrip, then a few minutes’ drive to be transferred to the lodge.

 Burunga Gorilla Lodge comprises  6 Luxury and comfortable en suite rooms overlooking the canopy, suitable for individuals, doubles, as well as family rooms overlooking the forest canopy that reflects African traditional building style with modern comfort.

Bwindi    Impenetrable National Park is the best and most visited national park in the south-western part of Uganda, in Kanungu district. The park is home to more endangered mountain gorillas, with over 19 gorilla groups in the park. The park occupies a total area of 330.8 square kilometers. There are more than  600 mountain gorillas in Bwindi National Park, of which  19 gorilla families are habituated.

The park consists of four different 4 sectors, namely:  Nkuringo sector,  Rushaga Sector, Buhoma sector, and  Ruhijha sector, where gorilla trekking takes place.  The lodge is found in   Rushaga  Sector, which is the home of five gorilla families, namely: Mishaya, Kahungye, Nshongi, Busingye, and Bweza. Rushaga sector also has 2 gorilla habituation experience families of Bukingi and Bushaho.  Rushaga can also be tracked while staying in the Nkuringo location.

Rushaga sector is the best and most visited sector with a beautiful view of the forest canopy compared to other sectors, thus making up Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.  A gorilla permit in Bwindi is at 800$. There are more than seven hundred and eighty-six (786 ) mountain gorillas in the whole world. Uganda holds close to half of its total population, and the majority of them live in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, whereas the others are found in Mgahinga National Park.

Bwindi Impenetrable National Park has different accommodations in all sectors: budget, Mid-range, and luxury accommodations. The best time to visit Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is Feb, March,  June, July, September, October,  and December.
