Elewana Tortilis Camp ; This is a magical location where you go and witness the majesty of Africa’s highest mountain ‘’Mount Kilimanjaro. However, the camp was named after the flat-topped, umbrella thorn tree, the acacia Tortilis, and embraces a hill in one of Amboseli’s areas of Acacia Tortilis woodland.

This camp lies in a private conservancy bordering the game park, game drives, walks, sundowners and bush meals which can be designed in both inside the national park and in the conservancy, where visitors enjoy exclusivity.

All tents are excellent, with king or twin beds and charm en- suite bathrooms. They have main lounge and dining area, all exquisitely built with natural material and thatched roofs, with spectacular views of Kilimanjaro.

The camp is furnished with a private House and Family tent which are located slightly separate to the main camp – upon the hill where they share a pool and enjoy splendid views of Kilimanjaro.

Elewana Tortilis Camp is one of the first eco-lodges of its size, and is very proudly 100% solar. Visitors here can rest assure and they can leave a minimal footprint during their stay.

To the Conservancy guests can enjoy game drives, walks and bush breakfasts and with off -road driving allowed, the guides from the camp have the ability to create unpetalled photographic opportunities, and much more frequent as well as higher quality adventure with big game than in the Amboseli National Park.

Note; The Kiturua Conservancy has strict restraints on the type of vehicles allowed into the Conservancy. Well, full board guests are able to use their own vehicles within the park, but one to enter the conservancy, they will need to use a Elewana Tortilis Camp vehicle, they are available but chargeable.

Little Tortilis; Tortilis luxurious ‘’Private House’’ and Family Tent’’ lies at the top of the hill, separate to the main tents, with great views of mountain and enjoy a private life around the swimming pool.

Electricity; All tents are connected by power 24 hours a day for lighting and charging. Batteries can be charged in the tents.

Tents run on a solar inverter system, which cannot support hair dryers. The lodge uses UK square three pin plugs.

They offer guided camp bush walk – short walk allows them to see flowers, grasses, insects, birds and bird calls, mammals and dropping.

Children can visit school – normal term times and extra cost.

Warrior training – learning how to make a fire, use of a bow and arrow but on additional cost.
