Gorilla Bluff Lodge : Gorilla bluff lodge is a newly set up perfect safari lodge, located in one of four gorilla sectors in world’s famous Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. More so, the lodge was set in Buhoma sector the most visited and first sector to be officially open for Gorilla Trekking Experience.
The lodge is built on an elevated area, with a dining area. A visit to Gorilla Bluff Lodge, you can experience a cool relax in a comfortable environment as you take some safari photos for your future remembrance or reading a book or discussing with friends about the day’s activities.
The lodge sits in warm -hearted atmosphere that stuns to all the guests on visit. They have got a well skilled team or staff friendly and welcoming to serve you with a smiling face.
While at the lodge expect to immerse yourself in a beautiful nature of Bwindi. You will also have a perfect view of the canopy forest, notable birds and other species that inhabits in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park as well as the mountain gorillas.
Gorilla Bluff Lodge sits on a beautiful hill overlooking the impenetrable forest of Bwindi. Since its still a new accommodation facility in Buhoma sector of Bwindi, it so far has four ‘’4’’ rooms but still in plan for the future benefit of Bwindi Safari Destination. The four rooms are categorized ;3 standard rooms and one self -contained banda /cottage, which can accommodate 9 guests per nights. It is at touched with a good craft shop which was established and started by the owner of the lodge to benefit the community by empowering the youth with art and craft making skills which earn then income and keep them out of the bad acts such as crime and drug abuse.
The fact, the lodge is located just 5 minutes away from the gorilla tracking briefing point. Therefore, Gorilla Bluff Lodge is an excellent place to stay for a gorilla trekking safari.
Restaurant and lounge;
The lodge is designed and furnished with the main house and dining, and space for further expansion perfect views of the beautiful surroundings, the impenetrable forest of Bwindi among others.
They have a perfect restaurant that serves homemade meals and freshly -baked bread.
Gorilla Tracking;
Gorilla tracking is the most of iconic activity done in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Gorilla tracked in here, have been habituated to get used to eye contact with humans and they can stay few hours with humans daily. Note, wild gorillas are trained and taught by a team of expert for the period of 3 to 4 years, a process regarded as Gorilla Habituation and both activities in one are offered by the Uganda Wildlife Authority with only 4 permits available daily at a cost of; Gorilla habituation experience a full day inclusive with 4 hours to spend with gorillas’ costs USD1,500 per person per trek and Gorilla trekking experience ‘’1hour’’ costs USD700 per person per trek. Well, Bwindi National Park and all activities done in the park are catered for by ‘’UWA’’ Uganda Wildlife Authority.
Community Walks
Well, the park is surrounded by several communities of different tribes such as; the Bakiga and the Batwa ‘’Pygmies’’ communities of people. These communities have different living standards and modes of life. Through visiting these communities, you will get to learn more about their culture and art. Note, that walking to these communities also takes you through several banana and coffee plantations as you experience how they are processed to make final products.
Nature and Forest Walks
Bwindi National Park is not only home for the unique mountain gorillas but also boasts with over 350 bird species, including 24 Albertine endemics, forest elephants, giant forest hogs, bush bucks, forest duiker, over 200 butterfly species ,11 species of primates including Chimpanzees and blue monkeys. The walking experience in the park is one of the best ways to explore this remarkable forest of Bwindi before or after tracking the mountain gorillas.
Gorilla trekking Uganda -Cost;
Since, gorilla trekking is the major key activity to do in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and can’t be done without a ticket or permit which allows you to access these giant apes in their nature inhabits. However, each gorilla tracking permits costs USD700 per person per day. Gorilla trekking offers a perfect view out there in the beautiful wilderness.
