Gorillas Bwindi Impenetrable Forest are critically unique endangered mountain gorilla species that live in tropical rainfall of Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and bamboo forest of Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Gorillas Bwindi Impenetrable Forest are unique giant gentle grouped in gorilla families which are given a gorilla sectors to live in, Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is a home of half population of mountain gorillas that are still existing in the world, meaning gorillas Bwindi are comprised of 21 habituated gorilla families whereby each gorilla families is led by  a silverback as the male who runs the family and the gorilla families are stipulated in four gorilla trekking sectors that are Buhoma ,Nkuringo ,Rushanga and Ruhija gorilla sector. Above all, in Bwindi gorillas are trekked according to the gorilla families in their gorilla sector.

Facts about Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is the main top safari destination among other two safari destination in the world where mountain gorillas are encountered. Because Bwindi hosts high population of mountain gorillas at affordable price related to Rwanda’s gorilla prices. Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is located in the southwestern Uganda region at the edge of the Albertine Rift, composed of the 321 square kilometers of both montane and lowland forest and it can be accessed on foot. However, the park is not only a home of great mountain gorillas but also habitat for over 120 species of mammals like African elephants, African golden cat, giant forest hog, African civet, ,350 bird species ,220 species of butterflies ,27 amphibians such as species of frogs, geckos, chameleon ,163 species of trees and 104 species of ferns and other small primates like colobus monkeys, chimpanzee, L’hoest’s monkey, black and white monkeys, red tailed monkeys, vervet, among others.

Bwindi Impenetrable Forest hosts over 21 habituated mountains gorilla’s groups open to tourism in four different sectors of Buhoma, Rushanga, Ruhija and Nkuringo in the districts of Kanungu respectively and all gorilla sectors are under the management of Uganda Wildlife Authority. Eventually, gorilla trekking tourism become a tourist’s activity in April 1993 and now it has grown into a popular tourist’s destination worldwide. In 1994 it’s when Bwindi Impenetrable Forest national park was inscribed on the World Heritage list.

Gorillas Bwindi are the main key tourist’s attraction that attract many tourists to come visit Uganda destination in order to meet up with our closest unique mountain gorillas of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest. More so, Gorilla trekking –tracking is the park’s major tourist attraction that generates much revenue for Uganda Wildlife Authority, to tourists who wish to trek gorillas must first obtain a valid permit to spend up time with habituated gorillas and gorilla trekking experience is done with limited number of visitors easy to be controlled to prevent risks of the gorillas and degradation of the habitat. Note, there are several registered tour companies able to reserve visitor’s gorilla trekking permits to Bwindi or Mgahinga Gorilla national park but you have to be very careful through contacts and making payment in way that, before paying for your full gorilla tour package, you need to first prove whether the tour operator you’re in contact are not frauds.

The strict rules for visitors on Gorilla Bwindi Trekking Safari and the rules given are to minimize the risk of disease transmission to the gorillas which can be seen in  Uganda, Rwanda and the Democratic of Republic of Congo and these are the only countries where visiting mountain gorillas is possible most especially in Uganda because it offers affordable price for gorilla trekking permits much compared to Rwanda gorilla trekking permits.

Gorillas Bwindi permits costs USD700 per person per day for foreign nonresident, USD600 for foreign resident and UGX250,000 for East African Citizens and this is an hour experience spend watching gorilla in their nature environment respectively. You can choose to do a full day experience of gorilla habitation at fee of USD1,500 with four hours given to the tourists to have enough time with these rare species of mountain gorilla and among the three countries can only be done Uganda ‘s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest –Rushaga sector. However, Uganda’s gorilla trekking experience is cheaper than Rwanda gorilla trekking which goes at USD1,500 per person per trek which is an hour gorilla safaris. Congo gorilla trekking costs USD400 per person.

Gorilla trekking being the main tourist activity in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest, starts early in the morning after your sweat aroma and then after your safari driver will drive you to the meeting Centre in the park for a short briefing about dos and don’ts of gorilla trekking. Briefing starts at 7:30am and 8:0am you set off to the dense forest in the search of a gorilla group your assigned in with, you will be led by the park range guide who knows where that gorilla group was previously located. Trekking gorillas can take 30 to 7 hours depending on their locations, as your trekking you will have other chances of seeing other species in the forest such as monkeys, tree species, vegetation among others. Once you locate the gorilla group you’re assigned in, you will be able to spend an hour with gorillas learn from them as well as taking memorable photography.

Booking of Gorilla Trekking; Gorillas Bwindi which can be seen by engaging in trekking and the possible way to do it, you must be having a valid gorilla trekking by buying the permit direct from ‘’UWA’’ Uganda Wildlife Authority offices or by help of the trust worthy tour operator. Getting to Bwindi

 Getting to Gorilla Bwindi Impenetrable national park is both easy whether by road or by air, the choice is yours. By road; From Kampala or Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest is approximately 9 to 10 hours’ drive access the final destination. Note road transport is more attractive and rewarding compare to Air transport where you will only go winding the air.

Air transport; You can use an alternative of traveling with domestic flight right from Entebbe International Airport or Kajjansi airstrip, Aero link Uganda or Eagle airline to Kihihi airstrip takes 1:30 hours plus pick up from airstrip.
