Hippo Hill Lodge is found in one of Uganda’s most touristic safari destinations—Queen Elizabeth National Park, which lies in the southwestern Uganda region in Katwe town. The lodge is located on a hill above the Salt Lake overlooking the Kabalazimu and Kitako islands, thus making it the best lodge for bird lovers on a budget safari on a visit to Uganda’s Queen Elizabeth National Park, home to unique tree-climbing lions and other ranges of wildlife species, over 95 mammals, 600 species of birds, and unique primates—chimpanzees, among others.
More so, the lodge offers around 10 spacious luxury safari tents with grass-thatched rooftops self-contained with hot and cold water showers, large-roofed verandas, flush toilets, and comfortable low-ground beds.
Hippo Hill is situated in a highly rewarding area, where you can drive through crater lakes teeming with flamingos and enjoy breathtaking views of stunning sunsets and the crater lakes.
The lodge was furnished with a spacious restaurant serving both local and international cuisine meals by a skilled, experienced chef staff who eagerly make your stay an unforgettable adventure. More than that, the Hippo Hill Lodge is located in Uganda’s busiest national park with a diversity of wild animals, ranging from dense swamps and rain forests to the endless savannah vegetation of the Ishasha and Kasenyi plains.
The Kazinga channel that connects Lake George and Edward inhabits a high concentration of hippos and crocodiles with other reptiles.
It is also counted among the best birding species, as it harbors over 600 bird species and is home to chimpanzees and other primates, such as colobus monkeys, olive baboons, blue monkeys, and red-tailed monkeys, among others.
