How to get to Kidepo Valley National Park; Kidepo Valley National Park can be accessed by both air and road transport from Entebbe or Kampala to Kidepo. Take note, there are several routes; the most direct route is passing through Gulu to Lokumoit Gate is about 600kilomters and takes about 10 to 11 hours’ drive.

More fact, the trip can be broken up with an overnight stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary, Chobe Safari Lodge, Gulu or Kitgum. The two longer routes pass through the remote Karamoja subregion and arriving in at Nataba Gate.

Note, the park has got two entrance gates that is ; visitors coming from the southwestern side of Kitgum and Gulu enter through Lokumoit gate while Nataba gate is the main entry point that connects to southeastern side.

The park can also be accessed by domestic flights which are usually booked by tour operator.  The tour operator also arranges for clients pick up from the airport or hotel. Tourists outside the country can enter Uganda by arriving to ‘’EBB’’ Entebbe International Airport which is located near the town of Entebbe and takes about 46kilometers from Kampala- Uganda’s capital.

Climate and Weather at Kidepo Valley National Park

Kidepo is located in the region characterized as semi-arid in the far North Eastern part of Uganda which is generally a dry region in most of the months during the year. Its temperature goes as high as 40 degrees, around29 degrees in the afternoon and 17degrees at night.
