The park has dense canopy of enormous trees that makes some regions difficult for sunlight to reach. Although, there are dense bushes that makes it difficult to go through. Mountain Gorillas Are Friendly Creatures;
Unlike baboons, mountain gorillas are generally friendly creatures that pose no threat to human safety. For that matter, it is with a little prudence, it is safe enough to be in their proximity. Therefore, because they are not accustomed to strong light, gorillas can easily be startled by camera flashes and become aggressive in defense. Before, you start a gorilla hike -visitors are briefed first about all the safety precautions at the park head office within the park.
Gorilla trekking is done to fully habituated gorillas which undergo through habituation process. They can get threatened unless they are being threated.
If you get ill before your gorilla trekking -shouldn’t attempt to visit them, that is putting the health of the gorilla in danger. As result, those with illness or a cough are not allowed to embark on a gorilla walk to prevent illness in the critically endangered mountain gorillas. Rules to follow;
Always maintain a safe distance of about 8 meters from them.
Do not touch gorillas because are wild animals.
Do not eat before gorillas.
Do not litter rubbish in the park.
