Kibale Forest Lodge is a comfortably styled safari lodge situated at the edge of Kibale Forest National Park in Bigodi village along Fort portal Kamwenge road. Chimpanzee trekking; This activity starts early in the morning with a briefing at the park’s head center about the do’s and don’ts of chimpanzee trekking. Then your driver guide will group you into a group of 6 people and park rangers will lead you to forest trails to look for them. The activity can take about 30 to 5 hours depending on their locations. Once you find them, one hour is given to trackers to experience the activity.

Chimpanzee Habituation; This is a fabulous full-day activity inclusive of 4-hour time to spend with chimps as you learn how they survive in the forest, feed, play, and groom themselves as well as enjoy memorable photography. For travelers wishing to do chimp trekking or habituation, we recommend you create an exercising body fitness before your time of travel.

What to carry with you on chimpanzee tours; Camera and extra lenses, binoculars, Insect repellent, lightweight wool socks, gloves, lightweight waterproof, sweater, wet wipes, small notebook, Ear plugs, enough mineral water bottles, rain jackets, long-sleeved shirt, hiking boots among others.

Nature walks and Hiking; This activity is awesome and is done in different natural head trails where you expect to see various primates, bird species, and animals

Size; The park estimates about 776 square kilometers of its low land that inhabits a high concentration of primates especially chimpanzees and monkeys, animals among others.

Location; Kibale National Park is located in the western part of Uganda south of Fort Portal district about 348 kilometers in a 5 to 6-hour drive from Kampala.

Best time to visit Kibale Forest National Park

The best time to visit Kibale National Park is all year round but the best time to visit is in dry seasons from June to September and December to February.
