Activities to do at Pakuba Safari Lodge – Murchison Falls National Park

Game drive

This is the most famously done activity at the lodge and park. In Murchison Falls National park, there are two sessions for game drives –morning, afternoon, and night game drive.

From the Victoria, and Nile cruise go for game drives, nature walks, birding, and chimpanzee treks which are done in the nearby Budongo Forest reserve. Generally, Murchison Falls National Park offers countless adventures.

Nile River Cruise;

Visitors to Murchison Falls National Park can go variously explore the Nile, from sunset cruises to boat trips upstream to visit Murchison Falls, National Park. The scheduled time for boat trips departs from Paraa Safari Lodge at 9:00 am and 3:00 pm daily. The Paraa lies above the waterfall thus allowing visitors to enjoy wonderful views down the river.

However, for the most impressive boating experience, it’s worth booking a private expedition at Baker’s lodge on the south bank of the Nile.

Sunset cruises start in Murchison, especially for visitors arriving by road.  Well, a boat trip to the falls reveals the sheer power of the Nile as it roars and makes sweet sounds through a gap of only 7 meters, the narrowest point in the mighty river.

Nature Walking and Hikes

The park offers an incredible experience or explore the park on foot and the guided nature walks are done along the Nile and Lake Albert deltas as they offer budding birders the chance to spot the unique shoe bill stork and some animal species can be viewed.

Bird watching

The park boasts over 450 bird species while on birding experience here. You can be able to view some water birds like herons, ducks, terns, cormorants, shoe bill storks, and ospreys, and cranes can be seen on the open plains.

Chimpanzee Trekking

This is a stunning activity done in Budongo Forest home to 800 individual chimpanzees. The experience can take about 30 to 5 hours and once are allocated one hour is given to you to learn the behaviors of chimps, feed, hunt, groom themselves, and take photos.
