Rushegura Gorilla Family In Bwindi Impenetrable National Park : Rushegura Gorilla family is located in Bwindi impenetrable national park with in the Buhoma sector and this Gorilla group was formed after Mwirima separated from the Habinyanja gorilla family and while during their separation, Mwirima who was known to be the leader of this group took seven members with him. However, later, the other group of mountain gorillas joined them hence increasing the number to 12 members and there was a birth of some new infants who also led to the increase of the number to 19 members. However, in 2014, after the death of Mwirima, it contributed a lot to their downfall whereby the number again reduced to 16 members. In addition, currently, a dominant silverback who is named Makara who decided to take over the leadership of the group leads the Rushegura gorilla group. The Rushegura group/ family had members like; Mwirima who was known as a dominant silver back, Kalembezi who was known as the male adult and also adult females like; Ruterana, Kabande, Kalungi, Busunza, Nyamunwa among others. more so, this Rushegura group also has Juveniles like; Nyampazi, Karungyi, Kafuruka, Kibande and infants like; Kyirinvi, Katabazi, Buzingz, Nyamunwa,Kibande and many others.
Rushegura gorilla family consists of a total number of about 16 habituated gorillas and these endangered mountain gorilla species always always have an opportunity to cross over from one country to another due to the fact that Bwindi national park shares borders with the Democratic Republic of Congo.
