Gorilla Trekking Experience

Gorilla trekking is a magical safari which starts early in the morning after breakfast and your guide picks you up with a packed lunch and drives you to the park head quarter for the briefing at exactly 7am and at around 8pm. The park guide will group you up into a group of 8 individuals and after he leads you to the assigned gorilla family, as you searching for them expect to have a chance of seeing other small primates like colobus moneys, chimpanzees and notable bird species. Remember to carry useful essentials like camera with enough storage, enough drinking water and snacks, hiking shoes, rain water among others. The trekking experience can last 30 to 7hours depending on their location.

Once they are allocated, you will be given one hour to spend with them as you watch and learn about their behaviors, feed, play, capture videos and taking photography.

Gorilla Rules and Regulations – Rwanda Gorilla Safaris

Always stay 10meters away from the gorillas, this is to protect them from catching human diseases.

Do not leave any rubbish in the park, which might cause diseases to our species.

If you need to go to the toilet while in the forest, ask the guide to dig you a hole with his panga. Always make sure the hole is 30cm deep, and fill it in when you’re done.

Do not touch them, they are wild animals

Always make a distance of 5 to 7 hours away from gorillas

Best time of year to safari in Rwanda?

The best time to visit Rwanda is all year around but the best time is during the dry season of June to September and December to February. But you can still visit the park in wet season, because accommodations can be at cheap rate and the park is out of crowd.
