Activities to do at Songbird Safari Lodge;

Chimpanzee tracking is the art of taking a great stroll through the forests in order to catch a glimpse of the astonishing primates that swing around the forest branches. In Queen, Chimpanzee tracking is done in Kyambura gorge known as the valley of apes and is found in the eastern part of the park.

Chimpanzee stays in groups called troops, consisting of about 30 – 80 individuals.

Chimpanzee trekking starts early in the morning with a short briefing about rules of chimps. The tracking experience takes about 30 to 5 hours, depending on their location. Once they are allocated, one hour is given to you to observe them as you learn their behaviors, play, feed as well as capturing memorable videos.

Game drive

Game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park is one of the major activities done by the tourists, through exploring the park in perfect pop-top safari vehicle with a skilled driver guide who helps you to adventure different wildlife species.

Game drive in Queen is best done very early in the morning when the animals are still active or in the evening when a wide range animals are heading back to their resting places. In Queen Elizabeth National Park-game drive can be done in different areas; Kasenyi plains, Mweya peninsula and Ishasha sector in the southern part of the park.

In general, Queen Elizabeth National Park is located in the western part of Uganda bordering four districts namely Rubirizi, Rubirizi, Rukungiri, Kamwenge and Kasese. The park covers a total land area of about 1,978 square kilometers which composes savannah grassland, forest, wetland and lakes that act as home for different wildlife species such as; elephants, buffalos, waterbucks, bushbucks, lions, leopards, warthogs, hyenas and over 600 bird species

Accessibility; From the park to Songbird Safari Lodge it takes 10 kilometers only, while Kyambura Game Reserve is 25 kilometers away.

From Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park takes about 5 to 6-hour drive. The nearest airport to access the lodge or the park is Kasese Airport ,41 kilometers from the accommodation.
