Budongo forest

Budongo forest lies within the Murchison Conservation Area and it extends to the Kaniyo Pabidi Forest. Budongo forest is located on the escarpment northeast of the Lake Albert covering an area of about 825 square kilometers. It is habitat to more than 360 bird species ,290 butterflies,130 moths ,475 tree species and 9 species of primates.

Birds to see in the Budongo forest include; Olive baboons, black and white colobus monkeys, chimpanzees, red tailed monkeys, blue monkeys as well as nocturnal primates like pottos and galago species. It is a best site for primates and birding views.

The Karuma waterfall

The Karuma waterfall is an attractive feature in Murchison Falls National Park. It offers a thunderous waterfall composing of cascading natural rock-formations through which the water force their way in forming impressive white foam. It is home to numerous animal species like buffaloes, hartebeests, lions, giraffes, Uganda kobs, baboons and various birds like shoe bill, goliath heron, red –throated bee eater among others It is also a rewarding site for sport fishing in Murchison Falls National Park.
