Turaco Treetops in Kibale National Park – Chimpanzee Tracking Tour – Gorilla Safaris –Uganda Tour/Bwindi Forest National Park : Turaco Treetops is a newly semi –luxe safari lodge set in the Kibale National Park and built in warm hearted atmosphere that offers a unique experience in the forest with spectacular views over the snowcapped Rwenzori Mountains. The lodge sits on about 5.2 hectares of rain forest, neighboring the lush Kibale National Park, popular for its endangered chimpanzees. Around the lodge’s ground, you can be amazed of many of the birds, monkeys and butterflies that inhabit the Kibale Forest home also for other primates like Bush babies, Black and white colobus monkeys and the Great Blue Turaco.

The footprint of the lodge is well –powered by solar and takes care of its surroundings – for example by rejuvenating degraded forest areas around the lodge, local sourcing and renouncing single use plastics including bottles of mineral water.

Turaco Treetops has 8 luxury cottages located at secluded locations in the wilderness. The cottages are excellence, with large windows and outside wooden decks, offering splendid views over Kibale Forest.

They have 8 spacious standard rooms to the lodge. The rooms lie in 4 duplex buildings that are positioned on 2 sites in the forest and offers perfect value for money. Standard rooms are designed with optional sharing balconies, ideal for families and friends who love enjoying the nature together.

Chimpanzee trekking;
Kibale Forest National Park is a magical place in the world to see chimpanzees up close, because it boasts with over 1500 individuals out of total of 5000 individual chimpanzees. This activity allows visitors to explore the forest as you research for chimps in their natural inhabitant. Once you allocate them, an hour is given to you to watch them as they play, feed and enjoying photography experience.
Nature walks
This activity takes you through into walk in the footprints of bush elephants, admire the indigenous trees and adventure many bird species and butterflies.
Birding Tours
The park is home with over 400 species of birds thus making it a true birding haven. Along your safari, buy binoculars and camera. Some of birds to see includes; White-Tailed Ant-Thrush, Black –Crowned Waxbill, Yellow-billed barbet, Superb Sunbird, Great blue Turaco among other species.
Bigodi swamp walk
Visit Bigodi swamp a home with over 200 bird species and various primates and some of primates to see includes; Vervet Monkey, Red Tailed Monkey, L’hoest Monkey, Red Colobus, Black and White Colobus, Grey Cheeked Mangabey, Blue Monkey.
Accessibility; From Kampala to Kibale National Park takes about 5 to 6 hours’ drive.
Lastly, you can choose to combine a visit to Kibale with Bwindi Impenetrable National Park for Gorilla trekking experience or combine it with a visit to Queen Elizabeth National Park for wildlife safari ‘’ spot tree climbing lions in Ishasha sector’’.
