This 10 days western Uganda tour is an exciting tour that will take you to different national parks in Uganda, including the savannah parks like Queen Elizabeth national park and Lake Mburo national park where you will be able to spot animals like buffaloes, elephants, lions, leopards, giraffes, zebras, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, impalas, oribi, and topi, among others, during the game drives, boat cruise and walking safari.
The 10 days western Uganda tour will also take you to the primate destinations like Kibale forest national park and Bwindi impenetrable national park where you will be able to spend time with the mountain gorillas and chimpanzees.

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to the hotel in Entebbe
Depending on your time of arrival at Entebbe International Airport on the first day of the safari, you will be welcomed by a representative from Achieve Global Safari and transferred to the hotel in Entebbe for relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
On the second day of the safari, your driver guide will pick you up from the hotel, brief you about the safari and later start the journey to Kibale forest national park in western Uganda. You will have lunch en route and enjoy beautiful views of the tea plantations, crater lakes, Rwenzori peaks, and homesteads, among others. Upon arrival, you will check into your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi swamp walk
After an early breakfast on the third day of the safari, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to transfer to Kanyachu Visitors Centre for a chimpanzee trekking briefing. After the briefing, you will be allocated an experienced park guide and park ranger and start trekking in the forest in search of the chimpanzees, which takes about 2 to 5 hours depending on where the chimpanzees are located.
During trekking, you will be able to view other primates like the black and white colobus monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabey, and olive baboons; view mammals; and see different bird species, among others. Once the chimpanzees are located, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them, which gives you an opportunity to watch them feed, play, rest, groom young ones, learn more about their behaviors, take photos and record videos.
Later return to the lodge for lunch, after which you will go for an interesting Bigodi swamp walk where you will be able to spot bird species, plant and tree species, and primates, among others. After the Bigodi swamp walk, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
On the fourth day of the safari, you will have breakfast at leisure, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park which is the second biggest national park in Uganda. The journey takes about 2 to 3 hours and upon arrival, you will connect to your lodge for lunch.
After lunch you will go for an afternoon game drive in the park, where you will look out for animals like lions, leopards, buffaloes, elephants, waterbucks, bushbucks, Uganda kobs, and warthogs among others and different bird species. Later, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Morning game drive/lion tracking and afternoon boat cruise on Kazinga channel
After an early breakfast on the fifth day of the safari, you will meet up with your driver guide to go for a morning game drive or lion tracking experience in Kasenyi plains where you will be able to spot buffaloes, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, lions, elephants, warthogs, leopards, and hyenas, among others.
After the game drive, you will drive back to the lodge for lunch, whereafter you will go for a scheduled boat cruise on the Kazinga channel. The boat cruise starts at around 2pm and rewards you with stunning views of hippos, Nile crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, and warthogs drinking water along the shores, aquatic water birds among others. After the boat cruise, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park via Ishasha sector
On the sixth day of the safari, you will have a relaxed breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to start the journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park. You will have a stopover in the Ishasha sector, where you will be able to spot the tree-climbing lion lying up in acacia/fig tree branches during the game drive. After the game ride in the Ishasha sector, you will have lunch en route and then proceed to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and upon arrival, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Gorilla trekking experience in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
You will have an early breakfast on the seventh day of the safari, carry a packed lunch from the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to go for a gorilla trekking briefing about the rules and regulations to follow during trekking. After the briefing, you will be divided into groups of 8 people and each group will be allocated a habituated gorilla family to trek and an experienced park guide and park rangers.

Gorilla trekking in Bwindi National Park takes about 2 to 7 hours, depending on where the mountain gorillas slept the previous night. During trekking you will be able to view other primates, animals, birds among others and once the gorillas are found, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their habitat, which gives you a chance to learn about their behaviors and habits, watch them carry out their daily activities like feeding, grooming young ones, and breastfeeding, take photos and record the beautiful moments to show people back home.
After the one hour with the mountain gorillas, you will return to the starting point, where you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking. Later, meet up with your driver guide and drive back to the lodge for an evening of relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Transfer to Lake Bunyonyi—boat ride
On the eighth day of the safari, you will have a relaxed breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Lake Bunyonyi, which is the deepest lake in Uganda. It takes about a 2- to 3-hour drive with stunning views on the way.
Upon arrival, you will go for an exciting boat ride where you will explore the 29 islands and enjoy views of the terraced farmlands, landscape, and bird species, among others. After the boat ride, you will connect to your lodge for lunch, whereafter you will spend the rest of the day at leisure or engage in optional activities like ziplining, nature walk and cultural tours. Dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park-walking safari
After breakfast on the ninth day of the safari, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to transfer to Lake Mburo national park , which is the smallest savannah national park in Uganda.
Upon arrival, you will check into the lodge for lunch, whereafter you will go for an amazing guided nature walk/walking safari in the park, where you will get up close and personal with different animals like giraffes and zebras, listen to the sweet sounds of bird species singing in trees, enjoy the cool and quiet environment, and take pictures, among other things. After the walking safari, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Morning game drive and departure to Kampala/Entebbe
On the last day of the 10 days western Uganda tour, you will have an early breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to go for a morning game drive in the park, where you will be able to view animals like buffaloes, waterbucks, giraffes, impalas, zebras, Uganda kobs, topi, and elands, among others.
After the game drive, you will drive out of the park and start the journey back to Kampala with an en-route lunch on the way and another stopover at the Equator in Kayabwe to buy souvenirs and take pictures.
You will later proceed to Kampala, arriving early evening and upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe International airport for your departure flight or drop you off at any place of advice. End of 10 days western Uganda tour
