Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Depending on your location in Kigali on the first day of the 3 Days Gorilla and Golden Monkey Trekking Safari in Uganda from Kigali in Uganda from Kigali, you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about the safari and then set off to Mgahinga gorilla national park which takes about 3 to 4 hours’ drive via border crossing ‘’Cyanika border’’ in Kisoro. On the way, you will enjoy impressive views of rolling hills in Rwanda, terraced farmlands, beautiful scenery many others. Arrive in the park and check into the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Lake Mulehe lodge-midrange or Travelers rest hotel-budget.

Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
After an early breakfast on the second day of the 3 Days Gorilla and Golden Monkey Trekking Safari in Uganda from Kigali, you will carry packed lunch boxes from the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to drive to the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing, you will walk into the jungle in the accompany of a park ranger in search of the mountain gorillas. The activity can last between 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on where the gorillas are located because they like to move from one place to another looking for food. During trekking, you will be able to see other primate species such as l’hoest monkeys, chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkeys, different plant species, birds many more.
On finding the mountain gorilla family, you will be allowed to spend an hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you a great opportunity to observe their habits, and behaviors, watch gorillas feed, breastfeed, groom young ones, take photo shoots as well as capturing videos for future remembrance. After an hour’s encounter with the gentle giants, you will trek back to the meeting center where you will be rewarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and then meet up with your driver guide to connect to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner, and overnight as above.

Day 3: Golden monkey trekking and departure to Kigali
On the last day of the 3 Days Gorilla and Golden Monkey Trekking Safari in Uganda from Kigali, you will meet up with your driver guide to embark on a briefing about the rules, guidelines, and expectations of golden monkey trekking. After the briefing, you will start trekking in the jungle in search of the golden monkeys. During trekking, you will be able to observe different notable bird species, plants, and other primates among others. Once they are located, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat to watch them jump up in trees, play, feed, learn more about their habits and behaviors, take photos, and record unforgettable moments.
After an hour with the golden monkeys, you will drive to the lodge for lunch where after you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to drive back to Kigali. Upon arrival, our driver guide will drop you off at Kigali International Airport for your departure flight or drop you off at any place of convenience.
