Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Depending on your location, on the 1 day of the 3days Uganda chimpanzee habituation safari, you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about the safari and then start the journey to Kibale National Park –from Kampala or Entebbe Airport takes 5 to 6 hours’ drive. On the way, you will have an en-route lunch and enjoy stunning views of the terraced farmlands, Kigezi hills, traditional homesteads, crater lakes, and tea plantations among others. Upon arrival, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Chimpugu Safari Lodge – Luxury, Chimpanzee Forest Lodge – Mid-range, Isunga Lodge – Budget
Day 2: Chimpanzee Habituation and transfer to Kampala
After an early breakfast on your second day of the 3 days’ chimpanzee habituation safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the Kanyachu Visitors Centre for a chimpanzee habituation briefing. After the briefing, you will start trekking in the forest which takes full-day experience. Once the chimpanzees have been located, you will be able to spend 4 hours with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to learn more about their lifestyle, and behaviors, watch them feed, play in trees, take photos, and record videos with a flash less camera.
After the 4-hour encounter with the chimpanzees, you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will meet up with your driver guide to drive you back to your lodge. Dinner and overstay at above.
Day 3: Return to Kampala
After a delicious breakfast at the lodge, followed by checkout start the journey back to Kampala with en-route lunch on the way. After lunch, you will continue the journey to Kampala arriving early evening and upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe International Airport for your departure flight or drop off at any place of advice.
