Detailed Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Transfer to Mgahinga gorilla national park via Equator
Transfer to Mgahinga gorilla national park: On day 1 of 4 days Gorilla trekking safari, Golden monkey tracking and the Batwa trail, arise from the comfort of your bed and meet our company representative who is your safari drive for this duration of 4 days and 3 nights excursion. Upon meeting our driver, he will brief you about your trip and set off for on a long journey drive to Mgahinga gorilla national park with a stopover at the Equator in Biharwe where you will be able to pose on both the Southern and Northern pole and take those thrilling photographs. After which you will enjoy your enroute lunch in Mbarara city one of the best cities in western part of Uganda. After lunch proceed your journey to the home of Nyakagezi Gorilla family in, Gahinga gorilla national park where you will arrive in the evening for check in, dinner and overnight sleep ready to trek endangered mountain gorillas the next day.

Day 2: Mountain gorilla trekking in Mgahinga gorilla national park
Mountain gorilla trekking in Mgahinga gorilla national park: On day 2 of 4 days Gorilla trekking safari, Golden monkey tracking and the Batwa trail, pack enough water, your lunch box, a camera and wear the best gorilla trekking gear and meet your safari driver for a transfer to the park headquarters for briefing about Mountain gorillas, the dos and don’ts during gorilla trekking and all the possible encounters while trekking these gentle giants in their natural habitats. After briefing, hire a porter and be led into the forest by experience armed rangers to start the trek as you search for the Nyakagezi gorilla family. The entire trek last between 2 -7 hours depending on how fast the gorillas move since they always roam the forest in search of food. Also the movement of the trekkers determines the time spent since all the trekkers must move in a group considering the slowest person in the group. Upon finding gorillas where you found them very fast or very late, the duration allowed for you to stay in vicinity of gorillas is just 1 hour after which you will exit the forest and be returned to the park headquarters to obtain a gorilla trekking certificate then return to the lodge for a relaxed dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Golden monkey tracking and Batwa trail in Mgahinga gorilla national park
Golden monkey tracking and Batwa trail: On day 3 of 4 days Gorilla trekking safari, Golden monkey tracking and the Batwa trail, have your breakfast served in time then return to the park headquarter with packed lunch box, drinking water and wearing an appropriate hiking gears. You will then be briefed about Golden monkeys the most beautiful and cheerful little primates that are only tracked in Mgahinga gorilla national park in the whole of Uganda. Well, golden monkey tracking also will start in the morning with briefing after which you will be led into the bamboo forest to search for the habituated troops of golden monkeys taking about 2-3 hours. Upon finding them, you will spend just one hour in their presence and later on exit the forest for lunch after which you will return in the forest with local batwa guides for a Batwa trail visiting the exact spots where the batwa resided amidst mountain gorillas harmoniously. You will be in position to learn how these Batwa used to survive through hunting and gathering. You may also participate in fire making, hunting, gathering and as well identify the plants that they used as source of Medicine in case one fell ill. After the Batwa trail, exit the forest and head to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 4: Drive back to Kampala for departures
Drive back to Kampala for departures: On day 4 of 4 days Gorilla trekking safari, Golden monkey tracking and the Batwa trail which is the last day of your Uganda safari, have breakfast served in time then check out of the lodge and embark on a drive from Mgahinga gorilla national park to Kampala. Depending on your flight details, you will be dropped off either at the hotel in Kampala or at Entebbe international airport for a flight.
