The 5 Days Lowland Gorilla trek and Nyungwe National Park Safari sounds like a short tour package leading you to the Democratic Republic of Congo through visiting Kahunzi Biega National Park and then ending the trip with a visit to Nyungwe Forest National Park.
Day 1: Pick up Kigali – Transfer to DR. Congo – Bukavu
On day 1 of the 5 Days Lowland Gorilla trek and Nyungwe National Park Safari, depending on your point of location in Rwanda, you will be met by your safari guide to transfer to cross to Bukavu. The journey to Nyungwe National Park from Kigali takes 7 hours with spectacular views of the rolling hill with stopovers for lunch and refreshments. You will cross through Cyangugu border after finalizing with the immigration process and then continue to Bukavu town- the nearest town to Kahuzi Biega National Park in Democratic Republic of Congo. Arrive at Bukavu town, connect to your accommodation for dinner and overnight stay at Orchids Safari Club Hotel
Day 2: Lowland gorilla trekking
On day 2 of the 5 Days Lowland Gorilla trek and Nyungwe National Park Safari, enjoy your breakfast at your hotel before being driven to the park headquarters for a briefing about the Eastern lowland gorillas’ rules. Thereafter, head on you’re an amazing trekking experience of the Eastern lowland gorillas in the valleys of Kahuzi as you encounter different mammals, birds, and primates. The search usually takes about 1-6 hours’ trekking, depending on the movements of the lowland gorillas. On finding them, you will be given an hour to spend with gorillas as you watch them interact/play with each other while you take photos and videos for memorable experience.
After your experience with the Eastern lowland gorillas, you will descend, meet your driver and after, back to your lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay as above
Day 3: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park
On day 3 of the 5 Days Lowland Gorilla trek and Nyungwe National Park Safari, you will cross back to Rwanda, after having breakfast. Head on a journey that covers 3-4 hours’ drive from Bukavu to Nyungwe Forest National Park. Connect to first check-in at your lodge for lunch. Proceed to check into your booked lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay at Nziza Eco-Lodge

Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and Canopy walk
Enjoy a relaxed breakfast and go for a briefing about the endangered chimpanzees before entering the forest in search of the active and playful fellows in Nyungwe forest with your backpack. The Chimpanzees are much easier to see as they jump from one tree to another, chattering and laughing. Chimpanzee tracking activity usually takes about 3-5 hours depending on their location. On finding them, spend an hour while taking pictures and capture videos.
Later afternoon, you will head to the canopy walk experience -through a walking trail that will take you to the Canopy Walk-a swing bridge 50 meters in length that is suspended from large trees; you will be able to see the beautiful rainforest with a bird’s eye view, adventure wildlife roaming around. Dinner and overnight stay at lodge as above
Day 5: Transfer back to Kigali city (6-7 hours’ drive)
After breakfast, check-out of the lodge and head on your journey back to Kigali city. Arrive in Kigali, you will either be dropped off at the Kigali Airport for your onward flight or be dropped off at your own-booked hotel. That marks the end of the safari.
