The 6 Days Uganda Bwindi and Jinja Safari is unforgettable experience that takes you into primate inhabitant of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest for gorilla trekking. After enjoying gorilla trekking head to Lake Mburo National Park for game drive and then drive to Jinja tour for water rafting adventure and end with a visit to Mabamba wet land for shoe bill tracking and spotting other water bird species. This trip starts and ends in Uganda destination.
Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Bwindi – ‘’1:30 hr.’’
Depending on your location in Kigali on the first day of the 6 Days Uganda Bwindi and Jinja Safari, you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about the safari and then start the journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park which takes about 4 to 5 hours’ drive passing through Katuna border in Kabale. On the way you will enjoy great views of rolling hills in Rwanda, terraced farmlands, beautiful scenery among others. Upon arrival in the park, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Haven Lodge -Mid-range Accommodation, Buhoma Community Rest Camp- Budget
Day 2: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park
After an early breakfast, you will carry packed lunch from the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing. After the briefing you will start trekking in the jungle in search of the mountain gorillas which takes about 30 minutes to 6 hours depending on where the gorillas are located because they like to move from one place to another in search of food. During Uganda Gorilla trekking you will be able to view other primate species such as l’hoest monkeys, chimpanzees, black and white colobus monkeys, different plant species, birds among others.
Once the mountain gorillas are found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to observe their habits, behaviors, watch gorillas feed, breastfeed, groom young ones, take photos and record the breathtaking moments to show people back home after the safari. After the one-hour encounter with the gentle giants you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will be rewarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and drive back to lodge.
Day 3: Transfer to Lake Mburo – Night Game “4 hr.”
You wake up have breakfast and after drive to Mburo National Park. Upon your arrival at the park, you will have lunch and relax at the lodge. Then after go for evening game drive where expect to see park’s treasures such as zebras, eland, buffaloes, otter, water bucks, Topi, Giraffes among others, you will also have chances of seeing unique bird species. Dinner and Overnight stay Rwakobo Lodge -Mid -Range.
Day 4: Transfer to Jinja -Water rafting – ‘4 – 5hr”
After an early morning breakfast and transfer to Jinja with a stopover at the equator in Kayebwe for photography taking and water experiment as well as having en route lunch. Then after proceed a drive to Jinja and arrival at hotel for check in as you wait for the next day activity. Have dinner and overstay at Two Friends.
Day 5: Water rafting in Jinja
Wake up have an early morning breakfast and then set up for White water rafting experience where you will be led by professionals through choosing which range of grade to do and are done in hours- half day takes about 2 hours and 30 minutes allowing you to come across 4 water rapids and you have chance of seeing beautiful water birds hovering around. Dinner and overnight stay at Two Friends -Mid-range
Day 6: Transfer to Mambaba & Uganda Zoo “3 hrs.’’
On the last day of the 6 Days Uganda Bwindi and Jinja Safari, have breakfast at hotel and check out of the hotel at 6am and drive to Mambaba in Entebbe for birding safari excursion which is done on canoe ride along the narrow channels of the swamp. You will be able to watch various shoe bills and other birds like Papyrus Gonolek, Africa Pygmy goose, Lesser jacana, Blue-breasted bee-eater, Blue- breasted bee- eater, Palm- nut vulture among others.
Then afternoon, you will drive to the Zoo to interact with the shoebills and after drive you to Entebbe International Airport for your flight depart or drop off at any place of your advice.
