Generally, Kibale Forest National Park is located on the foothills of Mount Rwenzori ,65 kilometer south of fort portal tourism city in Western Uganda, covering an area of about766 square kilometers. The park is one of the best destination for primate viewing and bird watching. It is renown as home to highest concentration with over 1500 individual and in the total Uganda has 5000 individual chimpanzees, with over 13 primate species like Red- tailed monkeys, Black and white colobus monkeys, L’hoest monkeys, Velvet, Olive Baboons, Blue monkeys, Grey Cheeked Mangabeys and more than 300 species of birds including; Yellow-billed hornbill, Sun birds, bee-eaters, sunbirds, Tawny Eagles, Grey headed kingfisher among others.
Costs of Chimpanzee permits Uganda;
Chimpanzee trekking permit costs 200 for non-foreign resident ,150USD foreign residents and Chimpanzee habituation costs USD250 non foreign resident.
Uganda Gorilla trekking permit costs USD700 per person and Gorilla habituation cost USD1500 per person per day.
Lastly, tourists can choose to combine their safari bucket list to Kibale National Park with Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park Uganda.
