Activities done by the tourists at the lodge are Chimpanzee trekking tours, Birding, and Guided nature walks among others.
Chimpanzee trekking is quite amazing in the pearl of Africa and is best observed in Kibale Forest National Park. The activity starts early in the morning with a short briefing at the park meeting point and after you will be guided by the park ranger guide to lead you through forest trails in search of chimps which can last a 30 to 5-hour drive. Once you locate them, an hour is given to you to experience the unique lifestyle, behaviors , feeding , playing , groom their young ones of chimps as well as taking unforgettable photo shots.

Kibale National Park is also a great destination for birding and most of the birders in Uganda are recommended this park. Some of the bird species to see includes; Cuckoo, African green- pigeon, Black swallow, Black, and white shrike- flycatcher, Black-billed Turaco, Black-billed weaver, African dusky flycatcher, Blue-shouldered Robin-chat, Blue-throated Roller, Zebra Waxbill, Brown-eared woodpecker, African-pied wagtail, Black and white shrike flycatcher, Black-billed Turaco, Yellow-spotted nicator,Little greenbul, Black-eared ground thrush, Brown-chested alethe, Yellow-rumped tinker bird and Blue-breasted kingfisher, hubb’s cisticola, Black-capped waxbill, African Black-headed Oriole, Africa green pigeon, Barn swallow Black and white shrike -flycatcher mentioned but few and migratory birds can be seen between November and April.
Guided nature walks are done around Biondi wetlands where you can be able to view a variety of monkey species and bird species as well as studying about its history by getting information from the park guide.
Generally, Kibale National Park is home to the highest concentration of chimpanzees in East Africa hosting more than 1,500 individuals, and shelters 120 mammals including several primate species like baboons and chimpanzees, other animals to see include giant forest hogs, common warthogs, African buffalo, mongooses, leopard, African golden cats, serval, leopards, sitatungas, bushpigs as well as elephant and antelopes. It also harbors around 370 bird species hosted in Kibale Forest including 23 Albertine Rift endemics. More so, it is located in western Uganda, covering 766 square kilometers in size, and was established in 1993 as a national park. Kibale is one of the homes with a concentration of primates in Africa and it is managed by Uganda Wildlife Authority.
How to get to Kibale National Park;
Kibale National Park can be accessed by both road and air transport means.
From Kampala to Kibale takes about a 5 to 6 hours drives with a rewarding view of scenic landscape, countryside, and beautiful nature.
Travelers who prefer using air transport can book a charter or scheduled domestic flight from Entebbe International Airport to Kasese Airstrip or fly to Nyakisharara Airstrip in Mbarara. The flight takes about 1:15 hours and after transfer to the park.
