Chameleon hill lodge is colorful accommodation facility situated in south western Uganda Kisoro district, chameleon hill lodge is situated in between mgahinga gorilla national park and Bwindi impenetrable national park making it the perfect accommodation on your safari in both mgahinga national park and Bwindi impenetrable national park.
Chameleon hill lodge is approximately 10 – 11 hours’ drive from Kampala the capital city of Uganda and starting point for most of the safaris in Uganda, this lodge is not only an accommodation facility but it is an adventure of its on as it is designed in multiple rainbow colors with a backdrop of stunning lake mutanda and Virunga volcanoes 6 of them.
Accommodation at chameleon hill lodge is offered in form of 10 luxury chalets that is 5 bed rooms and five twins designed to provide privacy to tourists, each chalet features en-suite bathroom with a modernity touch. Chalets have panorama widows where you get to enjoy scenic views of lakes and volcanoes, chalets features spacious rooms offered with different bedding style that is two beds in twin rooms, one large bed in double rooms.
Each rooms has its own unique charm and character with its own color scheme and a private garden, each bed has a mosquito net, extra blacks in case of too much coldness at night, these rooms have spacious veranda overlooking Lake Mutanda. Each chalet consists of

Chameleon hill lodge offers a number of adventurous activities to its visitors and these activities include
Mountain gorilla trekking
Chameleon hill lodge offers adventurous Bwindi forest gorilla trekking expedition in mountain gorilla trekking sectors that is Rushaga and Nkuringo, these two gorilla are situated near the park. Rushaga gorilla sector is situated 45 minutes’ drive from the lodge and Nkuringo sector is one hours’ drive from the lodge. In these sector you get to tour and stay in presence of mountain gorillas.
Boat and canoe rides
Chameleon hill loge offers canoe rides and motorized boat ride to Lake Mutanda, on these ride you get to enjoy the beautiful scenic lake.
Visit to the islands
Chameleon hill lodge offers trips to two islands that is Mutanda Island and Punishment Island, these islands are great relaxing islands and also offers you an opportunity to learn more about the fascinating history of the island most especially the punishment island where teenage girls who got pregnant before marriage where left to die.
Other activities offered include hiking up the highlands, biking safaris, community and cultural walks, nature walks.
How to get to chameleon hill lodge
Chameleon hill loge is situated 480.7 kilometers from Kampala to Kisoro town taking approximately 8-9 hours using kabale-mbarara route, you can use either road or air transport means to get to the park. By air means of transport you use a domestic chartered flight from either Entebbe international airport or kajjansi airstrip to Kisoro airstrip.
