The 12 days Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya tour is an interesting adventure that starts in Kenya and ends in Kigali Rwanda. The safari will take you to different destinations in Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda including Maasai Mara National Reserve, Lake Nakuru National Park, Kibale Forest National Park, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Volcanoes National Park. During the 12 days Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya tour, you will enjoy great views of wildlife including the big five mammals which include elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, rhinos, and other animals like elands, gazelle, topi, reedbucks, giraffes, zebras, hyenas, hippos, impalas among others which will be viewed during the game drives. Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Ma Maasai Mara National Reserve, evening game drive
Depending on your location in Nairobi on the first day of the 12 days Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya tour, you will be welcomed by the driver guide from Achieve Global Safaris who will brief you about the safari and then start the journey to Maasai Mara national reserve with en-route lunch and stunning views of the landscape, scenery, rift valley escarpments among others. Upon arrival, you will go for an evening game drive where you will be able to view different animals like elephants, buffaloes, zebras, giraffes, lions, and elands among others. After the game drive, you will drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Full-day game drive in Maasai Mara
On the second day of the 12 days Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya tour, you will have an early breakfast and meet up with your driver guide to go for a full-day game drive in the reserve where you will be able to view various animals like buffaloes, rhinos, gazelle, elephants, elands among others grazing in the open savannah plains, view predators like lions, leopards, hyenas, cheetahs among others. In the middle of the day, you will have a picnic lunch and then continue with the afternoon game drive where you will be able to view other wildlife species. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Morning game drive and Maasai cultural tour
After an early breakfast on the third day of the 12 days Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya tour, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to go for another morning game drive where you will be able to view some of the animals that you might have missed during the previous game drive.
After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch where after you will go for an interesting Maasai cultural tour where you will be able to interact with the Maasai people, learn about their culture, tradition, way of living, enjoy their traditional performance among others. After the cultural tour, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Drive to Lake Nakuru national park-game drive
After breakfast on the fourth day of the 12 days Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya tour, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Lake Nakuru National Park passing through the Rift Valley escarpment and beautiful scenery along the way. You will have an en-route game drive where you will be able to view different animals like buffaloes, elands, gazelles, rhinos, giraffes, and impalas among others.
Upon arrival in the park, you will connect to your lodge for lunch and later go for an afternoon game drive where you will be able to spot different bird species including flamingos along the lake shores, view animals like waterbucks, lions, zebras, elands, hippos, gazelle, giraffes, rhinos among others. After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Transfer to Nairobi for your flight to Entebbe airport
After breakfast on the fifth day of the 12 days Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya tour, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Nairobi with en-route lunch on the way. Upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at the airport for your departure flight to Entebbe International Airport. Upon arrival at the airport, you will be picked by our driver guide to transfer to the hotel in Entebbe for dinner and overnight.
Day 6: Transfer to Kibale national park
After breakfast on the sixth of the 12 days Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya tour, you will check out of the hotel and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kibale National Park. The journey takes about 5 to 6 hours and on the way you will have en-route lunch and enjoy stunning views of the farmlands, Rwenzori Mountains, tea plantations, Lake Gorge, crater lakes among others. Upon arrival in Kibale national park you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 7: Chimpanzee trekking and Bigodi swamp walk

After an early breakfast on the seventh day of the 12 days Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya tour, you will meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the Kanyachu Visitors Centre for a chimpanzee trekking briefing. After the briefing, you will trekking in the forest which takes about 30 minutes to 5 hours depending on where the chimpanzees are located because they like to move from one place to another in search of food. During trekking, you will be able to spot other primates such as grey-cheeked mangabey, black and white colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, honest monkeys, some bird species, and plants among others. Once the chimpanzees are found you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which helps you to learn more about their behaviours, watch them feed, breastfeed, fight, hunt, enjoy the juveniles playing up in the trees, take photos and record the moments. After the face-to-face encounter with the chimpanzees you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will meet up with your driver guide to return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will go for an amazing Bigodi swamp walk where you will be able to view different primates, bird species, plant and tree species among others. After the swamp walk, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 8: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
On the eighth day of the 12 days Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya tour, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to start the journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park. On the way you will have a stopover for en-route lunch and the continue the journey to Bwindi National Park with amazing views of the Kigezi hills, farmlands, and homesteads among others. Upon arrival, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 9: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi national park

After an early breakfast on the ninth day of the 12 days Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya tour, you will carry your lunch box and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing about the rules, regulations and expectations of gorilla trekking. After the briefing, you will be divided into groups of 8 people where each group will be allocated a gorilla family to trek with and a park guide who is knowledgeable about the mountain gorillas. Gorilla trekking in Bwindi impenetrable national park takes about 30 minutes to 7 hours depending on their location and during trekking you will be able to view forest birds, other primates, plant and tree species among others. Once the mountain gorillas are found you will be able to spend one hour with them which gives you an opportunity to learn more about their lifestyle, behaviours, and habits, take photos, watch them carry out their daily activities and record the fascinating memories to show people back home.
After a breath-taking encounter with the gentle giants, you will trek back to the starting point where you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking and then meet up with your guide and then meet up with your guide to return to the lodge for an evening relaxation dinner and overnight.
Day 10: Transfer to Volcanoes national park
On the tenth day of the 12 days Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya tour, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to start the journey to Volcanoes National Park passing via the Cyanika border in Kisoro or Katuna border in Kabale. On the way, you will have a stopover for en-route lunch and amazing views of the farmlands, homesteads, and rolling hills among others. Upon arrival, you will go for a twin lakes tour of Lake Burera and Lake Ruhondo where you will be able to enjoy stunning views of the terraced farmlands, and bird species among others. From the Twin Lakes, you will drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 11: Golden monkey trekking in Volcanoes National Park and Ibyi’wacu cultural tour
After breakfast on the eleventh day of the 12 days Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya tour, you will meet up with your driver guide to go for a golden monkey trekking briefing. After the briefing, you will start trekking in the forest in search of the golden monkeys which takes about 30 minutes to 5 hours depending on where they are located because they like to move from one place to another in search of food. Once the golden monkeys are located, you will be allowed to spend one hour with them in their environment where you will be able to watch them feed, play, breastfeed, jump up in trees, take photos and record videos to show people back home.
After golden monkey trekking, you will meet up with your driver guide and return to the lodge for lunch where after you will go for an interesting Ibyi’wacu cultural tour where you will be able to interact with the local people, learn about their culture, history, lifestyle, way of living, visit their homesteads, enjoy their traditional performances among others. After the cultural tour, you will return to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 12: Departure to Kigali
On the last day of the 12 days of the Uganda, Rwanda and Kenya tour, you will have breakfast at leisure, check out of the lodge, and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kigali. Upon arrival, you will go for a city tour where you will visit the Kigali genocide memorial centre, Kimironko Market, and art centres among others. After the city tour, you will have lunch and later your driver guide will drop you off at Kigali International Airport for your departure flight or drop off at any place of advice.
