This 5 Days Uganda Gorillas, Wildlife and Lake Bunyonyi Safari is a combined safari tour package that leads you to encounter great mountain gorillas in their natural habitat, wildlife in their untouched savannah grassland as well as visit the beautiful Lake Bunyonyi which is known as a place for little birds and the second deepest lake in Africa dotted with 29 unique islands among others.
Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park,
Depending on your point of location on the first day of the 5 Days Uganda Gorillas, Wildlife and Lake Bunyonyi Safari, you will be welcomed by our driver guide at Entebbe airport who will brief you about the safari and then set off to Queen Elizabeth National Park a journey which takes about 6 to 7 hours’ drive with en- route lunch on the way. Upon arrival in the park, you will embark on an optional evening game drive where you will be able to view different animals like elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, and waterbucks among others. After the game drive, return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Elephant hab-midrange / Pumba Safari Lodge – Budget

Day 2: Morning game drive/ optional lion tracking experience and afternoon boat cruise
After an early breakfast on the second day of the 5 Days Uganda Gorillas, Wildlife and Lake Bunyonyi Safari, you will meet up with your driver guide to head for a morning game drive in Kasenyi plains where you will be able to see various animal species like elephants, Uganda kobs, waterbucks, buffaloes, bushbucks, warthogs, predators like lions, leopards, hyenas if you are lucky and different bird species. After the game drive you will drive to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will meet up with your driver guide to head for an interesting boat cruise on Kazinga Channel a water body that connects Lake George and Lake Edward. During the boat cruise expect to enjoy spectacular views of animal species like hippos, Nile crocodiles in water, elephants, buffaloes, waterbucks along the water banks drinking water, and numerous water birds such as martial eagle, papyrus gonolek, pelicans, African skimmers, cormorants, African spoonbills, fish eagles, king fisher’s among others. After the boat cruise, you will drive back to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner, and overnight as above.

Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
After an early breakfast on day 3 of the safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to drive you to Bwindi impenetrable national park you pass via the Ishasha sector in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park. The drive takes about 2 hours’ drive to the Ishasha sector and upon arrival, you will embark on a remarkable game drive where you will get an opportunity to view the rare tree-climbing lions which will be lazily lying up in the acacia trees, fig tree branches if you are lucky. After the game drive you will have lunch and then continue with the journey to Bwindi impenetrable national park. On arriving, you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight stay at Buhoma Haven lodge-midrange, Buhoma Community Rest Camp – Budget.

Day 4: Gorilla trekking and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi
After an early breakfast on the fourth day of the safari, you will carry packed lunch boxes from the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to drive to the park headquarters for the gorilla trekking briefing about the do’s, don’ts, and expectations. After the briefing, you will start trekking in the jungle in search of the gorilla family assigned to – which takes 30 minutes to 7 hours passing through the thick forest where you will be able to view other primates such as the L’hoest monkeys, baboons, bird species, plant species many more. When the mountain gorillas are located you will be given an hour to spend with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to learn more about their lifestyle, habits, and behaviors, take photos, and record the moments.
After the one-hour encounter with the gentle giants, you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will be awarded a certificate for participating in gorilla trekking, meet up with your driver guide, and set off to Lake Bunyonyi which takes about 2 to 3 hours’ drive. Lake Bunyonyi is known as the deepest lake in Uganda and the second deepest lake in Africa after Lake Tanganyika. Lake Bunyonyi lies in Kabale. On arriving, you will drive to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay at Lake Bunyonyi rock resort-midrange

Day 5: Boat cruise and Depart to Kigali ‘’Rwanda’’
After an early breakfast on the last day of the safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to embark on an impressive boat cruise on Lake Bunyonyi where you will be able to view some beautiful islands, watch different bird species, animals, enjoy great views of the terraced farmlands, beautiful scenery, visit the local schools, health centers among others.
After the boat cruise, you will meet up with your driver guide and drive back to the lodge for lunch. Thereafter, transferred to Kigali. Upon arrival, you will be dropped off at your hotel or at Kigali International Airport for your flight departure.
